R55 Official Hot Chocolate Owners Club
My Clubman was off the ship in Brunswick on the night of 6-2.
MA in ATL called me today 6-6 about 2:30 to tell me it is on the lot safe and sound.
Looks like it will be Monday before I can drive down to pick it up.
MA already asked me what kind of mats I wanted................

Welcome! Awesome Clubbie!!!
Yours is identical to mine except for the interior. I chose Tuscan on everything.
Oh, and I got the driving lights, too. LOVE those webspokes! Can't wait to get my baby! Only a couple more weeks, I think.

I also went with the English Oak on the interior. And, I figured as this is my "mid life crisis car" (all my friends have gotten theirs already) that I would just go for broke. There is only two things i did not get 1. navigation 2. rear fog lights, and i regret not getting th rear fog lights. That one space in the switch console just drives me nuts. I think i ma going to have to call the dealer and get the parts to fix that even if I do not actually make them work.
My sunroof graphic is still about two months away as my niece is just starting back to her art (painting) classes and it will probably take here about 4 classes to finish and her classes are only once a week.
Hopefully yours will arrive early like mine did. Mine was 3-4 weeks early. Hows that is possible I do not know. but good luck with getting it and motor on. Can't wait to see you post some pics.
Schatzy
N2, welcome to the game called Weekend Wait.
My Clubman arrived at the dealer on a Friday, just like yours. Waiting till Monday wasn't fun. "Will we have hail, vandalism, an Apocalypse before Monday?"
The good news is that you'll be happy this weekend, knowing Monday is coming.

Gorgeous car. Post some photos of the interior if you get a chance, love to see some views of that HC Cloth/Leather.
(Especially with the HC Steering Wheel, etc.)
Which dashboard surface did you choose?

looking good!
i always wanted to moderately lower my Cooper and now my Clubman, but being 260lbs and sometimes carrying around a car full of people stopped me.
any experiences with bottoming out under those type of circumstances?

Nope, I can't say anything bad about the kit.. brakes better, almost ZERO roll in the corners.. really amazing!
No issues with the frontlip either! (the rubber piece)
The combo OEM Cooper S sportdamper + Eibach Pro-kit is simply amazing.. instant track worthy!

Lowering also helps handling and lowers the center of gravity of the car which will leave it much more stable.
But above all else....a lowered car looks 50 times better than a car with 2 inches of wheel gap

My first MINI was lowered over 2 inches and I could easily carry around 4 full-size males without bottoming out. It'd be next to impossible to have any problems bottoming out if you stick to the average spring-drop which is about 1-1.5"

but really ... with 15" wheels for now, I think i am sticking with stock springs.
IF and when I decide to go for a larger wheel size, i will look into lowering.
besides the Clubman does look better stock than the R56, especially the S's rear which is ridiculously raised

i just came from a Mazda3 non-Speed ... yes the Speed is a fast bullet ... but so what ... its ultimately a "flat" Japanese people mover.
I too am coming from a mazda3 S GT. My biggest concern is being able to get 2 car seats in the rear.
hehe ... mine was an S GT as well ... i am 6'7" ... my wife is close to 6' and I bought the Clubman confidently with planning for a kid.
the best thing to do is literally go to the dealer and bring yor car seats with you ... they'll let you try them out in the showroom.

of course your mileage may vary in TX.
the MINI DOES require premium however as opposed to the Regular needed by the 3 (although I am not sure of the requirements of the Speed) ... but still with only $.20 difference between regular and super ... its only about $2.60 extra per fillup ... but you do get much better fuel economy.
i am also willing to bet that your insurance will be siginificantly lower with the MINI than the Speed ... which brings up another point ... the cacoon like air bag heaven of the MINI compared to the thin doors (go and feel the weight of the doors in each car) and questionable airbag deployment on the 3's (see the 3 forums for some incidents)
the main reason for going back to the new gen MINI for me WAS the fuel economy on the 3 ... the dense NYC daily traffic was yielding 16-18mpgs on the 3.
