If it has an audio aux input, where the heck is it located?

 

For 2006, aux input was an accessory (self or dealer install). It only became standard from the factory in 2007 cabrios.

 

Thanks for that info -- we just ordered an '07. Does it negate installing an ipod adapter?

 

You can still install an iPod adapter if you have the Aux input.

 

I may have missed something here...but my dealer installed AUX input is in the glove box.

 

Where in the glove box?

 

If you can't find it in the glovebox, it could be on the panel under and behind the toggle switches, above the cigarette lighter.

 

Look in the rear of the glovebox, towards the left. You'll see a small panel that can be popped out. In 2007 cabrios, that's where it is installed. For pre-2007, that is also the location specified in the dealer installation instructions. You can install it anywhere else you want. A popular place is in the cubby under the toggle switches.

 

Late 2006 MCSC's did come with a standard AUX in the glovebox. I have one in mine.

 

I took delivery in September and my 2006 cab had one in the glovebox. It came standard and even surprised my MA who was ready to install it aftermarket. Check my gallery for pictures of glovebox installation

 

My Oct 06 delivered MCSC has the aux input in the glove box also....

Standard -- but only in late 06s. Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what build date incorporated the change

 

My March '06 Cabrio didn't have one. :(

So....sometime between March and September it became standard.
