Specific Interior Picture

Can some one show me a picture of the dashboard configuration that has the speedo and the rpm gauges above the steering wheel and the large center gauge is the oil, battery, and I'm not sure what else.

I am trying to make a desision about which layout I should order on the new Mini sidewalk.

Let's hear some opinions about your preferences for the interior gauge layout.

Chrono pac looks great

The chrono pac looks really nice. I was kind of leaning towards the traditional mini giant center speedo, but this does look really nice!
Thanks for the great pictures!

Chrono pack in cabrio

I have the chrono pack in my '06 cabrio. My first MINI had the speedo in the dash and I never quite got used to it, more eye movement during driving than I cared for. Also, I like the oil temp & pressure gauge, saved me the trouble of adding an aftermarket setup (these gauges should come standard in every car). The only downside is that when the steering wheel is at it's lowest position it's hard to read the top of the speedometer, but I can place the steering wheel where I like it and still read the numbers on the speedo up to 70. But that might be an issue with taller drivers, I'd recommend sitting in one to see if it bothers you. I hear that the chrono pack isn't available on the next gen MINI, guess I'll just have to keep my cabrio forever!

The car I test drove in 2005 had the Chrono Pack and dual setup behind the wheel. I agree that you need to see for yourself. I couldn't see any of the speeds between 60 and 90 because they were covered by the steering wheel..

I had read a lot of negative comments re: the chrono pack on other threads and decided I wouldn't get it.
However, the car I was interested in had it -- so I now have the chrono . . . and I can't imagine not having it. It looks really sharp, especially lit up and with the interior chrome.
I'm 6' and have no problem seeing the gauges.

Try on out if you can before you buy, some auto testers also complain about not being able to read the tach either. But then again, all you need to read on the tach is the red line.

I got the chrono because significant portions of the tach were blocked from my sightline in the traditional setup (I'm 6' 7") and because more instrumentation is good! The Chrono Pack actually allows me to see all of the tach and the speedo...

The chrono pack is awesome. If you get the chrono pack also get the chromeline interior, that makes it really look sharp.
I solved the problem of looking over at the center speedometer by having the speed function of the onboard computer active all the time.

My first MINI did not have the chrono pack, it wasn't available in 2003. When I set out looking for a new (used) MINI, I really did not want it either, I really liked the big speedo in the middle. However, the right car came along and it had the chrono pack. It has been 2 weeks now and it is growing on me. I like having the oil temp and pressure available. The speedo is slightly obstructed, but not enough to make it unreadable (is that even a word? sorry). Also, the tach is slightly obscured, but the higher section is clear, and isn't that what you would need anyways?

I guess I am now a convert, I would get it.

Does anyone know if aftermarket chromeline interior kits come with the full 8-11 chrome rings?
