You have the dealer replace your roof.

Agreed, and you have two be persistant and find the right dealer. In my case 3 complaint and second dealer, Westchester MINI. They agreed yesterday, and are ordering a replacement top and both windows! Ony problem is all may vendor stickers and 2006 Dragon Sticker will be lost!

Does anyone know if they ever have actually "fixed" this problem? If it's resolved with the late 06 cars and replacement tops?

I just left my '05 MCC (Cool Blue/Blue Roof - Aug '05 Build) at the dealership yesterday to get a replacement roof, along with the steering wheel emblem lifting off. It was a very VERY smooth process - no questions asked - all under warranty. PM me in a couple of months and I'll let you know if the white marks come back.

These are BMW/MINI TSBs given to all dealers to solve known issues.

Ditto on the TSB's. I was at a second dealer three days ago re: white marks; first dealer told me blue top's were supposed to have a "blue jean" effect, among several other half-truths (nice try, but poor service). So, I got the TSB's and took them to a second dealer. Initially, SM said "looks like normal wear and tear", so I disagreed and showed him the TSB's. He told my MA to order me a new top AND new rear windows (as they both had scratched and cracked); both scheduled for install on 1-19.

I think these are just typical "first model year" glitches with the convertibles. I believe the white marks problems have been resolved in late 05's and all 06's; any 05 or 06 owners care to comment?

I'm good...

My early production '06 cabrio has neither the white marks on my blue top or any scratches on the rear window. Thanks to this board I keep a constant eye out for both.

Where would these white marks show up? I have one of the first cabrios (received in sept 04), but i don't know if i've seen them, and i keep tabs on my car... Also, a dealer recently had me in for several TSBs they wouldn't totally explain to me...
Also, the "pockets" in the back at the bottom of the top? mine are almost-kinda-sorta starting to rip/fray/bulge a tiny tiny little bit. anyone hear of this? I can post a pic when it is dry out and i can get one.
Eric

The TSBs linked to earlier in this thread have illustrations of where the marks appear.

I have a 6/05 cabrio. I've got the half moon scratches, and my top is just now starting to wear.
Meg, what dealer replaced the top for you?

Does anyone here have copies of these TSB's that can be sent via email to me?

I had them on file...but I've lost them...and you can't access that site any longer

Thanks in advance!

We have two '06 Cabrios, one with a black roof and one with a blue roof. Neither one has any alignment issues, gaps, leaks, or scratches on the back window. There are some spots on the roof that are a little bit shiny from all the times we've raised/lowered the roof, but no wear-through or discolouration anywhere on the fabric.

My 04 roof has the white scuff marks and two holes forming...so I think I have a fight on my hands soon with a dealer.

I need these TSB's in case I get the response i got from a dealer in February.

Thanks

Had my Cabrio in at the dealers last week...getting a replacement roof cloth.

Didn't have to raise my voice or show the TSB...but I did have it with me

I found a copy of the TSB relating to these roof issues.

If anyone needs a copy...give me a shout

My '06 MCSCa has had its black top replaced under waranty. It had white marks, and you could see where the threads wear starting to break in a couple places. The head liner also had a couple holes. Both were replaced no questions asked by MINI of Peabody.

Well, let me ask this...I bought my August 05 build Cabrio used, it only had 22k miles when I bought it, but I just hit milage and had my first service. I haven't seen any white spots, but honestly wouldn't know what they looked like if I saw them. Does anyone have pictures?

will you please send me a copy of the TSB's. I have an 05 which is currently at the dealer being service and I showed them the white marks and they said it was normal wear and tear.
