Hi everyone. This is my first post, so I hope you don't mind that I skipped 1st Gear and got right to my question.

Can someone confirm for me that Hot Orange will indeed no longer be a color option after March of this year? I got an email saying as much from our local dealer, and I've seen a couple references in a thread or two. But I want to be as sure as I can before I rush out and put in an order in for a Hot Orange MCS Cabrio for the wife.

Also, please forgive my distrust of the dealership. This will be our first Mini, and I'm used to dealing with dealers that wouldn't think twice of stretching the truth a wee bit if it meant a buyer was going to feel a greater sense of urgency to put some money down. We were planning on placing an order sometime later this Spring, but if I need to do it now to get Hot Orange, I will.

Not sure where to go to get a good answer on this issue. You might check with MINI USA by sending a question through the website or give them a call.

If you find out something definite, be sure to post and let us know. This has been rumored over the last year or so.

FWIW, I think you should get the Hot Orange for her. (No, I'm not biased about the color at all.)

 

I just talked with a sales guy at another dealership who confirmed it, saying the Hot Orange would be unavailable come April. I've sent in the question to miniusa, and I'll post up here as soon as they respond.

Oh, and don't worry, she's getting the orange. The only other color she would have considered was the blue, but her mother just got a blue MC. So, now that's out of the question. One way or the other, she's getting the orange. Happy wife, happy life.

I work for a dealer in Canada, and the Hot Orange WILL be available for 2007. Previously any of the colours available have been so in both the US and Canada, so unless it is a temporary delete I wouldn't know why we would get it and those of you south of the 40th do not.

 

Got an email back from a representative at miniusa.com:

"Hot Orange will no longer be available for ordering as of March of 2007."

so, there it is. If anyone's thinking about ordering hot orange, get to it. Unless you live in the D.C. area; in that case, take your time so I can get mine.
