R52 Stroller with Convertible
Stroller with Convertible
Hi all,
I've read all the threads here with regards to strollers in the hard top mini. I went to babies r us on Sunday and tried every single umbrella type stroller they had in my mini (a convertible). I could not find one that fits. I ended up getting the McLaren Volo, but it has to go in the front seat. At least it folds up small so it isn't too obtrusive. But has anyone found a stroller that will fit in the boot of the convertible? They all appear to be too long.
thx

Don't have an answer to your question, unfortunately, but what about folding one of the back seats forward, so the stroller can protrude up into the cabin? I have a folding chair that will clear one side of the boot opening only if I find some cranny on the other side to jam the other end into first. Sometimes it takes awhile to find it.
Quinny Zap will fit folded in the passenger footwell area even, no reclining feature to the stroller, do an internet search there is one place in USA I found where you could buy them. Here is the link, but I can't vouch for the seller, I haven't done business with them, just found them selling in the USA on the internet.http://babydealz.stores.yahoo.net/quzabastfsh3.html, let us know if they are good on their sales and delivery, OK?
It will fold up short enough you can lay it flat in the front passenger footwell area, nothing said about having to leave the seat laid forward or down. Total length folded is something like 30 inches or so. Check this website for info on it. http://www.quinny.com/buggy/wheeler/quinny-zap.html
Sorry - that comment was meant for the post above yours. He mentioned folding the back seat forward. The quinny zapp looks very interesting. I'm going to research it some more, but it looks like it has some great features and is certainly small enough. Thanks for the link!
Well I don't have a baby stroller, but I do have a fancy walker for my 91 yr old Mother. It is a pain, but I have to put both back seats down to get it in at all. Was really interesting this past weekend when We went to Ocean
City. Had 2 suitcases, walker, pillows, bag of food. I think we should have waited to buy the walker till AFTER I got my MCSCA! Its amazing what you can fit in these little cars. Of course that means, we have to take 2 cars if any of my friends come along. Good luck with your hunt for a smaller stroller.

I did a lot of research and spread on the stroller issue. The three below should fit, but one is pretty expensive. The Peg perego aria and Bugaboo Cameleon fit. The cameleon is the one with the telscoping handle and all will fit in the boot. The Peg costs around $199 and the Bugaboo is closer to $868.00. Do not get the bugaboo frog. It will not fit because the handles are not telscoping. Note: the cameleon requires the top shelf up. Also, the Inglesina expresso should definitely fit the MCSC. This measures 13’ x 16’ x 28” and is $199.00.
Kflanary - We are in a similiar situation MCS Convert and 2 toddlers. They are big enough that we only need 1 umbrella stroller and not a full size. BUT there are NO Cheaper umbrella strollers that I have been able to find that fit the trunk.. :-(
I just took a peek at the Quinny Zap - $239 on sale.. Yikes!

I got this one http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2887327
but in order to fit in the trunk you have to take out the rear wheel ( they are easy to remove) it's design for travel. and it have all the features of a bigger stroller.

Thanks NAM. I came on here to search for help since my wife and I are due in a few months and this has been on my mind. Selling the Mini just to fit a stroller has been stressing me. Now all 3 of us can be happy! Thanks for the great research all. Cheers!
Haven't decided yet, but like the options.

With a second child on the way as well, I was going to say roof rack and box, but then I realized it wouldn't work in a convertible unless your co-pilot is a young Schwarzenegger. I just took a look at the Quinny zap at Buy Buy Baby.
if you have a newborn and you're using the Graco system... make sure you get the SnugRider Infant Carseat frame: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2266236
Since I needed to put the infant seat in the back seat, I would either lean the passenger seat back so the stroller fits there or I would fold the top handle back so I can slide the frame in the back seat as well.
the only problem I had was I needed to push the seats forward a bit making longer drives uncomfortable. but quick drives to Target aren't a problem
