6ft 6" pal in back seat of a PW MCSc

I went to the Tampa auto show this weekend and I brought along a buddy that is 6ft 6", to see if he would fit into the back seat of the MCSC I ordered that is setting sail from Southampton today! He actually fit, but not in the traditional manner. He fit in the car correctly if the front seat was almost all the way forward, which would mean a very small driver or passenger. Here are a few other pics of the PW MCSC -

Whoa, the convertible looks stunning in Pepper White

I'd imagine it would look funky with the green top

First comment is: doesn't it drive you crazy that people walk in front of you when you are taking a picture? What do they seriously think you are doing...taking a sensor reading with a tricorder?

Second comment: I bet your friend would fit better in the front seat, perhaps even driving. Probably wouldn't complain either. You could nav and handle the map duties! That's what friends are for!

Walking in front of the camera annoys me too. That blur was the mini rep who was working the show. She was running around protecting the three cars on display from people doing all kinds of crazy things. I wouldn't want a car that sat through one of those. I looked at an audi A8L, and the buttery cream leather looked as if the car had 50k on it from all the dirt.

My test subject did sit in the front, and with the seat all the way back he was quite comfortable. He had plenty of headroom with the top down as well  - in fact, with the seat at its lowest position, he was still protected by the windscreen!

He also sat in a tintop, and was very impressed with the amount of room.

One thing that puzzled me about this PW MCSC, is that I thought there was no way to get chrome hinges without getting the chrome handle above the license plate. When I ordered my MCSC, I wanted the chrome hinges but I didn't want to get the chrome line exterior. My MA said that was impossible, yet this PW MCSC has the chrome hinges and no chrome on the handle.

They had a PW MCSC at my dealer (ferman) a few weeks ago with the blue top - I didn't have my camera with me when I saw it. I think I like it much better with the black top - the blue was a little funky for me.

Here are a few more pics:

I've had a guy that was 6'3-6'4 ride behind me, and a guy that's 6'1 in the passenger seat at the same time. Since i'm 4'11, we all fit perfect.

Of course, almost every guy i know is over 6 foot tall, and every one of them loves how roomy that little car is inside

I had a PW convertible behind me the other day. I snapped a picture of it, but you can't really tell it's a vert since the top was up. I absolutely LOVED it though. Super classy, and looked awesome with all black interior and top

It works... I let a guy in my office that is 6'7" drive my car around the parking lot once just because he didn't believe he would fit.

I have a pic in my resume somewhere of me (5'7") and my 6'4"+ other half in the back seat of my car acting like fools... we fit just fine.

Hendrick MINI in Charlotte, NC had a PW on the showroom floor a couple of weeks ago. It had a blue top and dark blue interior with orange (?) stitching. (Can't remember the color of the stitching, but it was stunning!)

It was one-good-looking MCSC.

Yes, the dark blue leather interior has orange contrasting stitching, like jeans! It's fantastic! Wow...this is the first PW MCSC I've seen....it is beautiful!!

I like the green top n the PW... did the bonnet stripes match to ragtop or were they black?

I think I figured out my confusion with the chrome hinges. I forgot you could get chrome mirrors with the chrome hinges, but since I wanted body color mirrors on my DS MCSC, I couldn't have the chrome hinges.

The chrome hinges are easy to install. No tools needed. Just squeeze the old ones to dislodge and pop in the chromes. if I can do it. and im not mech inclined.. anyone can!

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they deliberately left off the chrome boot handle cover for a show car. I have chrome line exterior and the FINGERPRINTS and smudges you get on that handle are a pain in the boot.

My Boyfriend is 6'8" and he not only fits, but he drives....when I let him, hee hee. Seriously, he loves it and says the only bad thing about it is that people eye him when he gets OUT of the car, as if waiting for the other clowns to come following out behind. I will admit it is a little clown-like, but he fits in just fine!
