cabrio window feature/anomaly?

Maybe it's all minis... When I stop the car, take out the key and open the door, the drivers side window skooches down an inch or so. When I close the door, it skooches back up. Normal? Purpose?

Normal. Its so the frameless window makes a tight seal. Many BMWs do that.

Also your ears won't pop in a hard top that has that.

It's normal on the MCC. Nothing to worry about

I'm curious to see what happens during the winter when it's really cold... We'll see

It was the first thing I noticed when I first test drove one many moons ago. Just to make sure, I opened the doors on 2 others - both sides. I'm sure someone, somewhere was watching, doing one of these :impatient .

Did you lick the door handles too?

While you are licking the door handles, DON'T stick your tongue in the top of the window when you close the door. The window will not stop and the whole experience will be very painful. (No, I don't speak from experience...)

Kinda like the old "lick the flagpole" trick...

I'm a little slow

I've had my MCS 3 days, and before posting on this topic, I did a search
(I know how NAM members hate duplicate questions.)

To extend the question: it looks like the window scooches up under a seal.

What's going to happen if the battery totally dies (or is disconnected) and I open the doors? Am I going to break the window?

It's a feature found on many better convertables. My boss's Mazaradi does the same thing.
