eBay BT Adapter

Has anyone tried out this blue tooth adapter?

They claim you can answer phone calls from the steering wheel buttons. Looking for a low cost option to utilize the phone button on my 2007 Mini Cabrio.

I have a different model that cost 17.00 on Amazon.

My questions are: how does it work with steering wheel buttons? Unless it is extremely specific and designed for MINI, I would question all product claims.

Next question is: where is the microphone? Mine is part of an extension from the lighter plug. I have an extension cord and put the unit under the seatbelt to make calls. this puts the microphone about 4 inches from my face. It is almost bearable to make a call.

The better option for me is to let people know that I am not able to be reached when driving my MINI. Win-win.

Works great for listening to podcasts while driving but phone calls are limited to emergency only.

This works fine for me, plugged into audio Aux and placed under my handbrake lever. $15 well spent

Which one do you have in your 04? The ebay unit or the Amazon unit? Does it work with the phone button on the steering wheel?

Mine was from ebay. I have it hooked up with a Alexa unit in my car. So I can voice dial. Have Alexa answer. Plus listen to prime music, YouTube music or any other music ap.

I like that idea using Alexa in the Mini, but I would have to hide Alexa if I wanna leave the top down while out.

I have had one of these since 2018. It works great. It does not use the buttons on the steering wheel to make or end phone calls. However, you can use your phone (using Siri or something like that) to make or receive calls. There is a hard wired mike that I ran out to the steering wheel column and mounted it there by adhesive right in front of the tachometer. You have to select the Aux input to use it that way, or to play anything from a bluetooth device (phone). If you're using any other radio mode, it won't make or receive calls through the unit.
