what does this button do?
My wife just bought a used 2008 base Mini and we can't figure out what this button in the arm rest does. I can't find it in the user manual. Someone said its for bluetooth, but I was able to connect her phone using the radio controls. Anyone?
Your car is wired to plug in the cellphone adapter. If you press it, the bottom thing will pop up. If you had the adapter, it would eject the phone adapter

LOL thank god you asked this, when I first got my MINI a week ago, I said the same thing. I kept hitting it and saying WTH?! Then I saw the adapter and went ohhhhhhhhh. I wonder if the adapter is worth getting considering I have a case on my phone. I use my iPod through AUX though so it'd be nice to be able to use my charger for that.
Actually there are 2 buttons there. The speaker looking one is for switching from the car's bluetooth to the phone in order to continue a call. The larger button around the speaker is the release for the cradle as mentioned earlier.
