hello fellow mini enthusiasts,

i just purchased my first mini - 2006 mini cooper S with 24k miles. It has the 'phone' button on the steering wheel and an Ipod connection in the glove compartment. Is it possible that it has the button, but the car doesnt have the right stuff to make it work? Or, does anybody know how I need to hook it up so it works?

Usually if you have the buttons on the steering wheel it's because the options that use them have also been added. You might find this thread helpful in configuring your bluetooth phone. You need to "pair" it to the MINI. Which means doing a setup so your MINI recognizes your phone.
