Mine was delivered in September. I don't have that many miles on it yet - 3100 - but so far, knock on wood, no issues at all. I've had the top up and down many times - no problems so far. No leaks, no rattles.... But I've read some others aren't so lucky...

Chow!

1200 Rattle Free Miles
With the exception of some very faint white wear marks on the green roof, our MCC is solid and a pleasure to drive. No rattles, leaks, or weirdness-- only pleasant surprises as we discover new features.

Again, we're just breaking the car in (1200 miles), and fingers crossed we won't have any of the issues that have plagued HowardPM.

Glad to report NO problems here either. Made numerous long trips and had the top up and down. NO squeaks or rattles and tight as a drum. Car is great so far. Unfortunately there are instances where they make a bad copy. I guess Howard is one of them. Complaining here won't help. Go to your dealer and if the need arises, employ your rights under the lemon law if you state has one.

There is nothing more upsetting than having problems with a new car, especially one that people feel a great deal of passion about.

It's almsot like something or someone very important to you let you down. Sorry you are having problems Howard. Push the dealer to make it right for you.

Regards, Glenn

my convertible seems to be rattling from the driver's seatbelt area, and driver's roof area.

i'm gonna try stuffing things in there when the weather is better.

As a long time convertible owner, they all seem "like new" when the top is down.

When it is up, it's another story! Also, most cars sound tight in the first 6 - 8k miles IMHO. Having no rattles at 3,100 miles is good, but no portent for the future.

Hope we all stay rattle free.

regards,
Red

Update - now 6300 miles - no leaks, no rattles, only issues I've had is the rubber trim around the door frame (drivers side) would not stay in place. Already replaced (both sides) with new trim. So far, so good...

I've had my MCSC for 5 weeks, 2600 miles and there were some rattles in the dash and a speaker, but the dealer was very helpful about fixing them....

I too have the "white" spots on my convertable top

I've found that the seatbelts in the back rattle when touching the plastic sides, especially if the sterio is loud. I thought it was the speaker but actually my soultion is to keep the seatbelts bucked in the back seat...no rattles since.

This car is not for everyone, but I love it!

I have an annoying driver's side door rattle that goes away with the top down. One of these days I'll take it in because everything else about the car has been great And it's MUCH quieter than my old Miata:smile: I love my Cabrio

I don't have a cabrio, but I did have rattles, more like buzzing noises in both doors, that started at about 30K miles. Both doors were doing it around the lock buttons.Once again I used the wack technique I used quite succesfully on my dash rattle, but it only worked on the doors sometimes, and always came back.
When I had the car into the dealer, they took the door panels off and put foam/felt at the contact points.Seems to have fixed it

Have had mine for 4 months, 4600 (1500 in the first 2 days !!!) miles. Ditto on the back seat belt clips from an earlier post. Was getting the same thing from the passenger belt after having another person in the car, but sliding the retaining clip all the way up takes care of that. Did have some noise from the right side door, but that could have been loose crap in the glove box. Otherwise, this is as good as it gets as far as I am concerned. And I've been putting the top up and down couple of times a day. Never seen this much rain in Los Angeles. I thought it was supposed to be the land of sunshine .

Of course my other British convertible experience was a 1978 MG Midget and that is whole diffirent story...

The dealer doing anything for you? Have any lemon laws in your state? I'm sure you've posted about this, but I was curious for an update (sure several others are too).

rattles suck!
I've been attacking the rattles in my top. I found a piece of plastic near the driver's ear that gets pushed up when the sunroof is opened. it was one of the culprits. I taped it down as a temporary fix (don't know what i'm going to do about it long-term), and i noticed two more coming from behind the driver in the roof.

i'm going to take the interior roof cloth off tonight - someone message me if this is a bad idea, please - and pack the roof mechanisms with paper towels. I'll remove them one by one until i find my rattles and kill them too

god i hate rattles.

Howard, no offense, but I think your "this car sucks" conclusion is a bit strong for the issues you're having. Aside from the water leak, which is certainly a problem to complain about:

Rattle (singular?): All my new cars have had "a" rattle or squeak somewhere, minor or major. If I couldn't bear a single rattle, I'd probably buy a Toyota. I'm hoping my MINI, once delivered, won't have any rattles, but I'm not holding my breath.

Dead pixel on Nav screen: Many color LCD-based devices seem to have "a" dead pixel these days. Irritating? Sure. Unusual? No.

LED out on brake light: an easily-fixed and minor flaw.

I don't make these comments to diminish your unhappiness with the car, I'm only pointing out that perhaps your expectations are unrealistic for a European convertible. Hopefully you can get these glitches fixed and truly enjoy your car.

Rattle in my MCSC
My "OPEN" has only 1400 miles and it rattles with the top up, right above my left ear. It's annoying, but I'm afraid to bring it to the dealer. They might fix one problem and add a few more !!
I guess I'll just drive it with the top down. That's what I agreed to anyway.

Mine rattles in the same place & only with the top up. After months of trying to figure out what was rattling, I managed to stick my ear on the plastic piece running front to back on the ragtop at the junction with the plastic piece that runs cross ways in the top about half way back. Got the picture I stuffed one of my little gloves behind the plastic & bingo no more rattle. Unfortunately, I'll have to remember to take it out to put the top down. I'd love to put the top down all winter but it does get a little cold here in the Midwest
