I'm going to pick up my new acquisition in a few days and it's an '05 Cooper S Vert. The top is showing signs of wear in a few places and it got me wondering if anyone has any experience in changing their top? I put two tops on my Miata during the 8 years I owned it and it wasn't a bad job, especially the second one, but the Mini would be a new experience to be sure. Has anyone done a DIY? What tops are popular? I asked on another site but didn't get any responses from anyone who had to replace their top yet. I did check on the Robbins site and they show about 1/2 hour longer time to install the Mini top vs the Miata NA. Of course the first Mini top will take a fairly long period of time if only due to the unfamiliarity of the job.

 

Have you had the white marks top repair kit service done. There was a kit to set the adjustments of the top a little. Your local MINI dealership can run your Vin and see what was done.

The replacement I have seen does take a bit of time and energy. The top comes in blue, green, and black. I guess you could change the color at this time or stick with the original.
