Selling the MINI convertible...what to price it at??

Just curious if someone would chime in on what's a good asking price?

2008 Cooper S convertible chili red black top

...and every single option package...+ DSC, leather, nav, HID, wheel upgrade, etc. Basically everything you could get except the JCW options
28k miles. Not a scratch, dent, or chip.

I wonder if anyone else runs into this where each source(NADA, Edmunds, KBB, the auto trader listings, craigslist) are sometimes $7k to $10K over dealer trade in values.

I have dealer offering like $10k, one offering $11k, while NADA for instance says CLEAN TRADE(2nd best condition) is 18825. Edmunds mid trade is 16800.
There's only one comparable for sale locally and it's a base model priced at 19K by a private owner.

Most dealers say things like it's a niche vehicle and we don't have a market for it. I think that's BS. There is a MINI dealer 15 minutes from these other dealers with the low ball prices.

Car also has the extended no cost maintenance package until next Spring and has a official MINI car cover even though it's always been in the garage.

Where would you price it?

I just bought almost that exact car, same mileage and packages except nav. I paid $18,500. I also bought it 2 days after they got it in and they sold the other used cabrio they had just before I was looking, so I would say there is demand.

Was that a MINI dealer, another brand dealer, or just a smaller neighborhood lot?

Would you have checked into a private owner listing for $1k less, $2k less, etc?

It was at Mini of Rochester, so not real big but they serve a large area. I didn't really look around because if I could have ordered a mini it would have been just lime this. Being that it is first gen that isn't possible. I also personally like to stick with a dealer so I can pester them take care of any problems.

I traded in my 07 Mini S Convertible with 43k miles and not as many options (i.e. no leather) as yours and received $15500 from Mini Dealer. They turned around and listed it at 17,995 and sold it within a week. So market is out there.

Before you sell it, do you have any mods that you are taking off and looking to unload?

To answer your question, I would price it at 18k if I had to sell it. If I didn't have to sell it, I would keep it forever.

As of now this is my plan, granted I just bought the car. I love the first gen look and engine. When I ready for a new car I hope to be able to keep this one also.

I got my 2007 S manual with 30k miles for $16k with a fair amount of negotiating. I Think the original ask was 19k.
