My dealer tells me that the first few months, maybe longer, of shipments of the new Cabrio beginning in September will all be Coopers. The S will come later (whenever later is). If you are interested or already plan to purchase one- which model do you plan to get?

 

I think that the Cooper has the best overall look. Very clean lines. I think that most people get the S because of the higher horsepower, but they will have an aftermarket turbo out very soon to make the Cooper 200hp!!

 

Car companies typically release the base-model convertible first and wait until the initial feeding frenzy dies down before they toss the supercharger into the chum bucket

 

Having an S with 15% reduction pulley, BMP intake, Magnaflow exhaust, and having gotten a Cooper as a loaner, I don't think I'd go for the Cooper

I'm number 29 on the waiting list at my dealer for the Cabrio- but they suspect that some of the folks ahead of me will opt to wait for the S and I'll move up the list. I'm just trying to do an informal survey to get a feel for what % that may be.

 

I'm 21 on my dealer list and haven't decided on a Cooper or an S. I drive a regular S now.

 

:smile: I've been told - of course it's all still rumor until the production gets a bit closer - that the Cooper and the S WILL be released at the same time. :smile: Let's hope - otherwise - my wait will be a bit longer...
