R52 alternative cabrio rollbars
and regarding the track issue........
my local mini group has published the '09 bmwcca drivers ed schedule. when i inquired, i was told no cabrio's need apply!
paul, are your friends in winston-salem working on a scca approved bar for the track? i'd be interested if we're not talking rear seat delete/major interior mods, as my mini remains my daily driver..and to and fro from ice hockey practice with my son mobile.

they *will* work on one, as soon as someone gives them a cabrio for a month to build it on, which hasn't happened yet and I k ow of no volunteers to do so. No clue how much interior nodding would be required as it hasn't been designed yet...
I'm just sticking to venues and promoters who allow cabrios as-is... Turns out there are plenty of options to consume my annual track day budget... Just not the local car clubs.

I know....I've had no issues with NASA and emra. Just wish I could run with my buds. I suspect fiona may eventually wind up being pulled by a trailer. Then I can do the miata spec roll bar....which seems to fill all the requirements.
I could see if MINInurse would be interested. She doesn't use the back and she got the Cooper hoops to replace the chrome ones. If she says yes, than she can use my MINI for the Winter and we can get hers to NC
rollbar being made
I do not know if there is still any interest but I am getting a rollbar made in June and cost should be around $ 675.00 .It will be installed where the factory bar is .You then be able to see out of the rear window.Greg

It makes a huge difference and could save a ton of money.

This tip is awesome for the Cabrio's huge blind spots.
