Quote: I agree with AKIndiMini, that is one beautiful MINI.
It would have been much nicer with JCW rims and Aero Kit, but it is beautiful as is also.
JCW rims and Aero Kit would add about 4K to the price.

Yep, usual for limited editions with MINI.

According to Craigslist, the dealer in Nashville, Mini of Nashville has one available. The person that ordered it, decided against it and now it's available..

There appears to be one at Hendricks MINI in Charlotte NC.
I say appears because it doesn't have any of the proper badging.

I am really torn about making any mods to this car... the whole 1 of 100 thing. I've pretty much decided against the aero kit, and to go with a splitter to make it more aggressive, adding some driving lights but just stuff that could put it back to stock in an afternoon, nothing major. For example I want to beef up the suspension so the front wheels will stay on the pavement, that little break in the back looks kind of silly with the big brake in the front. These are things that couldn't be changed back that easily.

You do know that some of the last 100 came with an Aero Kit don't you?
And as for the brakes... The front disc is always larger than the back because that is where 75% of the braking power comes from.

Bigger brakes on the back would be purely for looks, of course I know if I paint the back calipers red like the front ones that will give me far more stopping power...

As for the aero kit... I look at it like this. I was, at one point in time big into VW bugs, and Ghia's. The last one I had was heavily modified, the next one was (I saw was because the next one was this Mini) going to be pure stock. For some reason I feel like a classic should be stock, and so I am thinking about thirty years from now.

If only I could just afford to get another one to do what ever I want to, and then park this one in the garage for special occassions.

The Aero Kit was installed as a "Stock" option on some of the final 100 based on dealer options.
As soon as I find the picture of the one I'm talking about I'll post it here.
I totally agree with staying close to stock but keep in mind that the GP also had a few items that could be optioned.

changing the breaking balance = bad. the front/back balance has been pretty well engineered.

i hear you. i hate/love tracking/autocrossing mine

I saw one of the official last 100 at San Francisco Mini, on the show room floor with 14 miles on the odo. Beautiful all around...except the selling price...5K over MSRP! They have the same mark up for the JCW MCS's and Clubmans. Krazy!!!

Bulldog Badge #?
Hello fellow Last of the Supercharged owners. Has anyone thought that the red bulldog badge was made to put your edition number on it? It seems to me it was designed with that in mind but I haven't heard anyone talk about it.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure I just got a call from the dealership that badging and some other things have arrived for the car ... the thing is that I already have them on my car. I'll call tomorrow to find out what they're talking about. Are we given spares?

Did you ever talk with your Mini dealer about the badge?

Yes, spoke to them and they basically said that since I have them I don't get a back up. I'm not sure why they called me in the first place, but I didn't pursue it any further than that.

What a beautiful car! Had no idea about this limited production run. If I had the means and space I would have grabbed one of these!

Long live the R53 and R53!!
