What are these things coming out of the rear bumper that look like gun barrels? Was this part of the James Bond 007 package or something that I missed?

They are mounts for a rack of some sort.

 

Its part of the Mini-Fini trailer hitch.

 

Would these be a normal item to see on a new car? I always assumed stuff like that would be 1st owner add-ons, but this car appears in Crevier's new car section.

 

Maybe you can mod them for an oilslick or a smoke screen!

Nice looking MCS-looks like it has just about everything on it.

 

It is the Sportlink mounts usually for a bike rack. They are an option. This was probably a vehicel that the original purchaser did not take delivery.

 

I believe those are the barrels from the 'Austin Powers package'; else they could be the mounts for the rack...

Is that a fairly normal occurrence with R53 MINIs? I can understand the R56 where somebody ordered one, and then didn't like the first few they saw when they began to hit showroom floors. It would seem like anybody who ordered an R53 would know what they were getting themselves into.

At any rate, the bike rack mounts make sense. I actually like that, as I have a MTB (as does the wife) that would be fun to take up into the hills on a MINI and then ride around...

It could also be the dealers demo-it looks very well optioned so manybe the dealer used that R53 to show what you could get on a Mini and now that the R56 has come out it's time to sell it.

 

IF it were a bike rack there would obviously be bikes, if it were a gun it would have to face forwar so you could aim the MINI so obviously this is an oil slick! I'll have to locate my photo of the conrtol switch for them

 

MDK is probably correct. My dealer had one with the same setup in the showroom.
