Not at all

I think you just offered to give me a couple of classics because I don't have a garage yet you keep on telling me to keep my "carport" warm. Yes, that and get a King Snake or a kitty. I have the kitty. I'm also an elderly person. Now, don't you feel a bit silly giving me such shabby advise when all I wanted was a little help. I think it's time for me to call your mother, young man.

No, but in my case. I decided to sell, cause I got a good deal for my '03 S. In the meantime I have the chance to make a better judgement between a '06 or '07.

I'll be here for a very long time.

I'll bid $1502 on the old rusted, rattle-ridden, raunchy-riden' obsolete R53.
Another one to add to the list.

I almost bought an Opel GT - beautiful cars. Yes, the cable operated headlight lever was endearing.

Hey, MY cable broke and I was too cheap to get it fixed.

So the eyes were always open

Check out the eyes stuck open, Wide-*** fat A70 tires, and total disregard for washing And lets not forget my bold choice for color ... orange.

Wow, orange... that instantly gave me flashbacks of an orange Saab Sonnet that I lusted after 25 years ago. It was a faded, dirty orange machine, slightly narrower than the Opel, I think.

Gosh... all of the eccentric cool cars that got away. Glad I'm not rich, or I own a giant barn stuffed with relics/ "investments."

dimini--I had an orange SAAB Sonett! Was yours a Sonett I, II, or III? I had a II, which started out life in white, was immediately painted gold by the original owner, and orange by me after front and rear got smushed in a fender bender. Loved that car!

As for obsolescence, the R53 isn't, and won't be for a long, long, time. And then it will be time for it to be a classic.

Psst - don't look now, vm, but she would be 'grandma' (I know, they start to look androgenous at that age...) She's a BAMAtt, not a baMATT.

Just google it. There are opel forums I am sure. But they were not all fun and games. Engine dead at about 60K miles and rebuilt. Orange, stuck way out ... Stopped at the Canadian border coming into the US and customs took the interior apart and left it for me to put back together

That was also the car I had when meeting my future wife and she had ... an ORANGE VW bug ... coincidence? I think not ... SHE bought her car the EXACT same day I bought my Opel

BAMAtt - Teresa from alaBAMA

baMATT - A guy named Matt who likes to drop his pants.

Lame stretch to stay on topic - BAs are never obsolete...

Ok you guys and gals, let's get back to MiniSuperCooper's orginal topic: Is his obsolete R53 worth a $1503 bid?

No, that's not the topic, it's about faded, burnt orange, obsolete cars. In addition to the Saab Sonnet, wayyy back in the 70', I also wanted to buy my friend's BMW 2002ti. It was too much money, though. It was also faded, burnt orange. A mere 5.5 degrees of seperation between me and all these vintage oranges!

Just this weekend I saw an Audi TT convert., in fashionable Orange dreamsicle color. Wow, another orange car that I lust after... Maybe I should wait for three years, to ensure that it's obsolete, too, and then buy it.
