Hey guys,
I'm looking to change my current bonnet stripes, they are black with white edges on my hypber blue with a white top.

I've gotten a metallic yellow color and I want your guys opinion on if it looks good and how I should style it. I've also gotten white so i'm going to put edges on the yellow like how the current black ones are.

I either want to just keep the two small stripes like it is but yellow, I was driving on the 101 and I saw a red MCS with one fat black stripe with white edges down the hood and the back of the car. So I was maybe thinking if I did that but with the yellow...

I took some pics of the vinyl with my car, so please let me know.. and if you think this color will look bad, please tell me!!

I guess if you are a Univ. of Michigan Fan.... You'll love the "maize & blue"...

On the other hand.... If you love it... do it, who cares what we think...?
On yet another hand.... put the yellow on, post a pic & I'll let you know.

Sometimes... I wish I had left my white bonnet stripes on my BRG,... but, I didn't and you know what... I'm still happy!

Not a fan of Michigan, just thought yellow looked nice with the HB. But I like Sweden and UCLA? Hmm.. didn't think about those things haha.

There you go. See if the local IKEA would sponsor you. I have the same decision to make, I am going to peel my old stripes off and re-do them.

Those yellow stripes really do stand out, but I'm not sure I like them. I tend to go for the more classic look of the black or white stripes, but that's just me. If you like them, go for it!

 

I like the combination, but IMO it's a little much ... How about black stripes with yellow on the edges instead of the white? Or if you like the one stripe option you could make a big black stripe with say 1" yellow stripes on each side about an inch from the black? I guess what I'm getting at is to make it more of an accent.

That said, be sure to do what makes YOU happy. My stripes aren't for everyone but they bring a smile to my face every time I see them!

I agree with this idea. Maybe Carter can do a picture of this for you to view. I love yellow but I just dont know if it will blend. BUT do what makes you happy because I have ladybugs and flowers on mine and not everyone likes that.

basically I just want my cooper to look different and I want to stride away from the black stripes because I have a white top.

Here is what I was sort of going for. I'm going for more yellow than gold.


I just haven't thought of any other colors, so if anyone thinks anything other than black would look good.. let me know! But yeah, the color is sort of dieing out on me.. now that I have this image.

I'm gonna hold off until i'm 100% sure.

 

There's a good solution in there somewhere, just keep trying different combos. Blue, white and yellow can look really striking together - just a matter of getting the right mix.

Maybe try white stripes with a narrow yellow strip down the center of each, or white stripes with yellow pinstripes running 1/4" inside each edge. I'm kind of inclined not to put the yellow directly against the blue. (reminds me of high school - our colors were blue and yellow)

Everyone knows what opinions are like and that everyone has one. But, white with red pin stripes would carry on the red, white and blue of England or USA.

 

Maybe reverse the scheme. White with yellow outside stripes?

I am not a great fan of yellow, sorry Liquids . On the other hand, I can appreciate your desire to have something different . Try it. You have the vinyl - if you decide this is not OK, it peels off.

You guys are right, i'm just going to try different things.. it peels off!

First, i'm just going to put yellow right over the black and leave the current white edges.. if i don't like it, I will take it off and go back to the thinking board. If I like it a lot, I'll think about mirror caps and the vent on the hood like the pic below.

This coming from someone who put a white stripe and mirrors on an AB/AB MINI. No white at all prior to the vinyl.

 

i'd segment the yellow and run the squares up the inside of the black like the old yamaha race colors . kenny roberts rules!!!
