no kidding! i went test driving with my friend and he went into a hairpin doing about 40mph and I thought we were going to die. But the tires gave a little chirp and we went right through it!!! It was awesome.

Without a doubt, even though the MINI's cool looks got me to go to the dealership to drive one, it was the mind blowing handling that sold the car for me.

I think that this is a good time to stress safe driving.

That's sweet! My Miata friends are hosting a race day at a local track (motorsports ranch) and I am allowed to attend with the MINI and it was said, "Yes, Ches and his MINI will be welcome although he will be lagging!" They have no idea eh?

What's the connection with the MINIs and Miatas? I'm seeing a lot of MINI owners that have miatas or have friends with miatas. what's up with that?

Well, TminiS, since you don't own a Miata and haven't got a Mini yet don't you think the 'suck' comment was alittle strong? I owned a 99 Miata and drove it for four years before trading it in on the Mini S. I loved the car and every day driving it, the only reason I gave it up was because I wanted a change. I"ve never had a car over four years. The Miata is the car that made all these other small sports cars of the 90's and 00's possible. The small sport rodster had almost completely died out in American markets and the Miata showed to the corps that Americans stll love small, peppy, inexpensive sportscars! For 22,000 approx you get a two seat convertable with 147 hp that's a blast to drive! Just remember opinions are like A**holes, every body has one we just don't all need to see yours.

IMO, the Miata and the MINI are very simalar in a few ways.....
They are (and were) an instant classic car. They are both cars that you just love to drive! This compared to the Bug and PT..... They were all about looks. To be a true drivers car with lasting effect in the industry it has to be a drivers car! The MINI just like the Miata is a passionate car. The MINI with it's FWD layout (That handles like no other FWD car in the World!) Will only be complimented further by the release of a AWD model (rumored). I think at that point this will be the cult car of the new century.
Happy Motoring.
