R50/53 I was told to trade the Cooper in!
I am a genuinely nice guy. (Just ask me!) I try to treat everybody with decency and respect, even people I tend to disagree with. I am intelligent and very down to earth. People who know me will generally agree with that.
BUT
To people who judge books by their covers, you'll get opinions all over the spectrum about me....
My voice sounds like a cross between Lewis Grizzard and Jeff Foxworthy, therefore a lot of people think I am a moron.
I work on my own cars, so I must be a grease monkey....
I only wear Rolex watches, so I just have to be an insufferable snob and love wasting money. (Nevermind the fact that no watch I ever tried previously ever lasted more than 3 months and was worth exactly ZERO as soon as I left the store with it. I can more than triple my money on my Rolexes.)
If you don't like me because I :
Drive a MINI;
Shoot clay targets;
Own a Camaro;
Work on my own cars;
Wear glasses;
Have brown hair;
Could possibly be losing some hair;
etc, etc, then it probably saves us both some time.
In a way, I suppose it's a blessing. People who judge you based on such insignificant qualities aren't worth your time and effort anyway.

Yeah, and they ascribe way too much importance to income also. People shouldn't be judged on superficial qualities any more than they should be judged on race. Judging people based on their race just makes you a bigot.

I agree, but I think they infact are worth your time. anyones opinions can be truely changed, and I believe everyone has something to offer everyone. I think its a good thing to have relationships (maybe not romantic) to learn. But then again im 17 and already know everything right
A troll is an antagonizer of people.
For example it means coming onto a Mini Cooper site and saying "Your cars suck, Hondas are TEH WIN!!!"
It comes from the idea of "trolling" for suckers

I have a factory lift on my 2002 Tacoma 4 door that I use for a daily driver. I dont like driving the MINI s or my M3 in traffic, kind of a PITA with the stick and other drivers riding up on your rear. I notice in the truck that does not happen that much and it is easier to intimidate other drivers when you are bigger when you have to squeeze in. Taking 3 other persons out for lunch is not fun in the MINI either. So for me the truck is better. I installed nerf bars for the skirt hiking business.
Oh.
Hmm, I can't agree with Clo and you on the men part.
Being, a man
, Men I know pay little, if any, attention to detail.
If you ever saw the show on WB ... Geeks and ?, I forget, all the women knew designer names by heart. The guys, they were lucky they put their shirts on straight.
When it comes to the things people wear such as shoes, clothes, jewerly ... well diamonds can be fake. Rolex can be fake, etc. Designer labels are ripped off all the time. You won't know it until it falls apart after wearing it a few times! But it wouldn't matter. I would never pay attention to any of it and couldn't tell you what a person was wearing three minutes ago
It has been my experience that women are far more observant in these areas. Just go to a party ... wife will remember what EVERYONE wore. I will be lucky to remember what we ate for dinner
As to speech ... that is kind of hard to miss. If someone uses street slang in a polite conversations, you know pretty quick where they are at.
Cars ... I aint touching that one. Rich folks have been known to drive beaters and poor folks drive Mercedes living in poverty.
Oh yeah, teeth
I thought that was how you checked out a horse ... seriously!!! [Emphasis added.]

I guess the next extension of that logic is how does men driving MINIs equate with them wearing make up?
Well, Mini's just seem kind of cute and girly to me, that's all. Most girls I know love them and guys don't. It's ok for guys to drive Minis, but that just doesn't do it for me. I still think lifted trucks are hot for a guy to drive. My BF's F150 is awesome. Anyway, didn't mean to offend anyone. Sorry!

Where I come from, guys that drive lifted trucks are laughed at, it is considered that they try just a little too hard to be 'uber macho', and are probably trying to offset some latent none-uber-macho feelings or tendancies, then there is the BIG TRUCK == Small wedding tackle anology too
. Often lifted truck guys have mullets too.
Some guys use them for off-roading, but they tend to not be too popular with women that have decent levels of self esteem who tend to prefer weekends in Vegas over weekends clambering over rocks on 4x4 courses.....
Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but then again......

Seriously, take a look around, there are a lot of guys that post here, the vast majority of which drive Mini's. Mini's are classless, ageless, raceless and even gender and/or sexual orientationless. Probably more so than any other car on the market today
Oh yeah, before teh NAM police jump on me, much of this post is tongue-in-cheek.
or is it

I live in boerne TX, I had a lifted jeep.. and infact in boerne if your truck isn't lifted and has smoke stacks it isnt a truck..
when I sold the jeep to my uncle and got the mini all my GUY friends want to drive it
as far as the girl factor, easy to say girls enjoy coming back from a date in the mini rather than the doorless jeep...
This wasn't trolling ... it was speaking ur mind.

Thats too bad because I know lots of classy women who like the outdoors, are willing to hike, like going down trails and still hit the tables in Vegas. They are not mutually exclusive

Now lets see .... tongue in cheek of course
Minis are classless
Agreed. They really are.
MINIs are ageless
Dunno about that. The first gen is looking tired now

MINIs are raceless
True, not too many MINIs actually win races

MINIs are genderless
hmm, dunno about that. I see far more Women driving MINis than say ... H1s. Sounds like chick car to me

Just kidding. you set yourself up for that.
Well, everyone is a stranger until you meet them. The people who wrote the entries in the Encyclopedia Britannica are strangers, too. And just what is "scholarly backup"?
I was told this past weekend that I need to trade my Cooper S in and get a truck and lift it. Then, I guess, the women would like me. You know what my response was?.......If hell freezes over, pigs fly and I have more money Bill gates, I still wouldn't....These people just don't understand do they?
Men and women both have approached me and asked about the MC. IT's a much better magnet for attracting people than a truck.
