R50/53 I was told to trade the Cooper in!
Eh... When I start a family I will have one truck (probably a wrangler, so or SUV) that will have a nice lift (1"-3") and nice big tyres
All the rest of the cars will be European

I agree, some people just don't understand! I went to my ex g/f place a few weeks back (she hadn't seen the MINI before) to drop off her belongings.. the first words out of her mouth were "That is ugliest f****** car I have ever seen!" My reply: "Don't worry, you'll never be riding in it." - in a very calm voice. lol
nice!!

one of my all time favorites.....
I was told this past weekend that I need to trade my Cooper S in and get a truck and lift it. Then, I guess, the women would like me. You know what my response was?.......If hell freezes over, pigs fly and I have more money Bill gates, I still wouldn't....These people just don't understand do they?
Any woman who cares only about the contents of your bank account is hardly a trophy...
MINIs are fantastic cars, but there have been lots of fantastic cars over the years. Drive and own what makes you happy.

here here! my wife will tell you that one of things she was most attracted to when we met was the fact that I didn't give a damn what other people thought of me. I had a Honda CRX and a (stock) Jeep Wrangler and didn't need to own a BMW, or worse, a turdmissile Camaro to have self-esteem.
to the single guys out there....confidence (and a large shoe size) is where it's at
A big bank account can be substituted should you fall, umm, short in one of the other two

I had a Tahoe and it was lifted 6" and had 38X12.5 MTs in Las Vegas. I used it to go into the desert. When I lived in MD, it was lifted 3" 36X12.5 and that was for 4 wheeling. I used both vehicles as chick magnets and yes, each vehicle attracts different type of women, and no, I am not a Redneck.

Well coming from a redneck, I happen to LOVE my MINI and got rid of my truck. I did not have to just was tired of it. As several have already stated drive what ever you want to it is you that has to like it not them.
Happy motoring everyone.

What I found was that big trucks are actually magnets for pudgy, balding 50-year old guys.
I've owned a bunch of different cars since I started driving. The list is quite diverse... cars large and small, foreign and domestic, fast and slow. Pickups large and small. A few Jeeps/SUVs. Still have a lifted Jeep Cherokee, a stock Dodge Dakota 4x4, and now my Mini.
Some things I noticed: The exotic and/or fast cars I've owned only seemed to attract the attention of other guys - usually the immature types who only wanted to street race. The 4x4 pickups and SUVs
never really got anyone's attention...except in the case of the Jeeps - other Jeep enthusiasts. My old '71 VW Superbeetle was well liked by women (and ridiculed by the guys...I live in a 'rugged Alaskan' 4x4 town).
The Mini... EVERYONE seems to like it! Men, women, and (especially) children... The young and old. I am quite surprised how many nice comments I've had about my car, and I haven't even had it that long. I like cars with personalities, and the Mini has plenty of it. It's one of the few vehicles that could make me smile, even if I was in a bad mood prior to driving (or simply looking at) it.
Based on my experience with lifted trucks and Jeeps - you're not going to attract the type of ladies you'd want to be with. Being a Mini owner makes you less intimidating to the opposite sex, and they're more likely to approach YOU when they see the Mini. And once you're in their comfort zone, you've gotten past the hard part. The possibilities are endless from there.
Anyone who tells you to get a big truck to attract the ladies clearly, IMHO, does not get it.

no disrespect to Camaro owners, but my wife's ex-husband apparently had more Camaro's, Firebirds and Trans Am's then he had inches, if you know what I mean.
Out here in Redlands they call this place the Inland Empire and you can't walk 1 block without seeing a HUGE truck that has been lifted with a guy who has a flatbilled hat on driving around and all the chicks love these guys. Apparently so does this chick..
So I always make it a point to park next to them...It is funny to see. It reminds me of this shirt http://www.cafepress.com/buy/mini+co...-z-8--BLB/c_0/
Heh.
