So what happens to the OEM bumpers and things
when you buy a MINI Cooper S and have the "Factory" areo package installed?

 

I assume they save them to use on another car that's been in a collision, or send them to the parts department, or something, but I'm just guessing.

 

2002-2006 (and 2007/2008 R52 convertibles), it's not a factory aero package, it's dealer-installed, which means the dealer will remove/dispose of the original bumpers, unless you ask them to keep them for you.

2007+ hardtops, it will simply be installed at the factory, instead of the original bumpers. Nothing to dispose of.

 

So I "should" be able to get to get them from my dealer when I pick up my car?

 

If you tell them you want them, they'll give them to you. Otherwise they go in a pile in the dealership.

 

I was told that as part of the price I paid I had to supply my factory parts or the kit would cost more. At the time I didn't think much about it and let them have them. I don't know what they do with them.

I got my MCS bumper from eBay, very good buy for all you MC folks, just dont havr anyone back in to you. grrrr
