25 degrees...
...is what my ambient temp sensor was reading.
That is the only reason I like being in the northeast during winter, COLD A$$ AIR!! My car is running like a raped ape!!

Yeah it's been down to 19 here. Mini's been starting fine though. Can't say the same for our 2005 F-150. Although it's not a fair comparison, the truck sits outside where the Mini sit's in the garage.

After I got home today I popped the hood, and the SC outlet horn was only a little warm, the inlet side of the DFIC core was chilly, the outlet side was just plain cold as hell. The airbox and induction hose were also nice and cold.
Bah, 1 degree is warm

That was my Audi, and it started right up. The MINI hasn't seen much below -3 or so...

I'm serious Marc, the car feels like I can't give it enough "go pedal". Like part throttle is unacceptable. Crazy.

I thought that very same thing about my car once. It's very weird.
Maybe your mods like the cold air more? Or, in other words, maybe they USE the cold air better? I mean I guess we all know our cars will run more efficiently as the temp drops, so it makes sense that the car feels better, but you're describing some serious butt dyno change. I'd venture to guess that you will feel a bigger difference than a stock MCS, especially with your DFIC and scoop.
Enjoy it while it lasts!

I'm definitely enjoying it, but I will enjoy it more when I turn the drivers side hood vent into a ram air scoop for the air box.
My car is also running amazingly in the cold. The acceleration is incredible now, it's nearly like being in Sport mode all the time. It's like I have a different transmission. My friend's 2001 325i runs poorly in this weather, however. He says sometimes it's like the car "doesn't really want to go." Weird.
My car has been running like a beast lately too. It doesn't like the first like 3 minutes of driving in the AM if its 30 degrees though.
Me thinks that the cold air makes our interkewlers more efficient. Not only just cooler intake charge via the intake. Cars without an intercooler (like the bimmer that was mentioned) probably don't like the cold as much.

Hey! Careful or you'll be hearing from the Abused Apes Support Group!
. What good is all this acceleration if you can't carry it through a curve:impatient?mb
Cold air makes my MINI sad.
Absolutely horrible mpg in the cold (16@ 6th gear hiway cruising). Seems like the ECU is not adjusting to the engine warming up, and staying stuck on cold start-up mode (read: rich as a pig).
To test this theory, yesterday, after driving far enough to get up to op temp, i pulled over, shut down and re-started. Problem gone. Will try it again today to see if that was a fluke.
I'm baffled.

Did you notice any difference in how your car ran after you shut it down and restarted?
I have to agree with the warm weather crowd. It has been in the fifties here in the morning this week, and Sally chugs down the road with her grill slats chattering. It sounds like she is saying "can't wait for August, can't wait for August". On the other hand, it might be "my human is nuts for driving with the top down, my human is nuts for driving with the top down".
I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the weather, have a little fun in it for me too

I will be integrating a custom fiberglass scoop where the drivers side vent is now. It will sit on the hood, either directly over the air box or just in front of it.
No noticable difference, just better mpg.
Just tried it again this morning, and seems to have been a fluke; also seems to have picked up a "rough spot" in the rpm band at ~4k.
Oh, well, back to the dealer.
