Just curious because most dealers seem to give a little based on these threads. Now we know of two that don't.

Do you like the grocerybag holder? I was thinking about getting one.

One other question, do you like the MC or the STI better?

They were out of stock of them on time of delivery when I wanted it. They ended up just giving it to us the next time we came in. I just recently installed it and used it for one bag. It does its job. We had a similar device in one of our other cars and it worked great.

They are both equally fun but in different ways. The MINI MCSc is more fun to just drive around doubly so when you can lower the top. The STi is more of a drivers car and you can not use 50% of its potental 99% of the time. The MINI is definately more refined. My STi is an '04 which is the most harsh of the US market cars.

"Free" stuff from the dealer?

I'll be taking delivery from Ralph Schomp MINI in Denver within the next few weeks, so I guess I'll find out then. I guess all I'm really expecting is a full tank of gas and (most importantly) a new car delivered in absolutely pristine condition. Especially after reading some of the horror stories here about NEW cars being delivered with damage .

That being said though, I'd love to get some free swag or be offered some discounts on dealer installed options/accessories.

To those of you getting the "free" stuff from the dealer: Did you order a bunch of dealer installed accesories or not? I'm just wondering if dealers are more inclined to give away freebies after they've made some $$ on installing accessories.

I didn't order a single thing. And I asked for the mats and the tank of gas.

Schomp doesn't do freebies. All I got was a full tank O gas, a bottle of water, and a 20% discount on floormats. Butttttttt, I racked up nearly 1,000 miles on their demos while waiting 9 months for my car, and I get treated like a VIP service-wise, so I guess it all evens out, eh?
