Should I get it?

i just got my mcs today 03 dark grey packages 1,2,3,4 black roof , mirrors 47k . navigation , cloth int. anyways

i have the option off a 100k/4yr bumper to bumper warranty for $2900.
it is valid at any mini dealer. they told me all i have to pay is $100 deductible.

is it worth it or what? i have 2 days to think it over.

anyone have this how does it work ?

Its a good idea but 2900 sounds alittle high, see if they will give it to you for closer to 2000

Seams alittle high, but if something major goes out he will wish that he got it.

Honestly, I suggest you to look for a '05, and wait a bit till the '07 arrives.

Wow I can't imagine getting use out of a warranty like that on a modern car unless for some odd reason the engine blew up... and even then there's a chance the manufacturer would help pay for it. Are MINIs really that unreliable?

I'm pretty sure you'll drive more than 1000 miles in the next 5 years. :P

Anyway, get the waranty. On that year model, you'll want it.

Please explain. Mine is an 03 also, and the warranty expires next week.

I'd say no. It sounds incredibly too expensive. I doubt you'd get your money's worth. I'd take the $2900 and invest it somewhere if you want to prepare for possible future repairs.

The price is a little steep, but I agree with others about how "quirky" 03's can be. If you can get the warranty for a little less, I think it will pay for itself if you have just a few of the common problems with 03's: For example, a window motor, a door lock motor, a headlight lens, a power steering pump and a cooling fan would cost you way over the warranty amount.

If you get the warranty you should research what they cover and also realize that you have to be very careful on modding your car . I would take the $2900 and throw it in a saving account and use it as needed. Also I am sure there is a deductable for every use.

I purchased a 2002 MCS with 21k miles and debated the warranty and decided against it. I still have the warranty money and will use it if needed on any repairs.
