hey, are the new minis gonna be considered the 3rd gens?

When people begin putting blow off valves on their R56's I am sure that is going to sound pretty cool also.

 

What does it sound like with a blow off valve?

 

It'll sound like any other turbo'd car with a BOV....which can be very bad or very good depending on the kind you get.

Sometimes it's hard to get a response when you deserve one.

 

We also need the "no hood scoop" sticker for some of us...

 

According to the MIMIUSA web site the new MINI has an "air intake hood scoop"

 

Hmmmm, well I suppose the scoop will allow for air intake. But how functional is that intaken (is that a word?) air?

 

 

And it's listed under the "Top Performance Features."

It also says it, "helps provide ample airflow to the powerful turbocharged engine. Helping everything stay perfectly cool for optimum performance."

Seems like the first sentence sort of implies that the air intake for the turbo is in the scoop, but the second could mean it just provides positive pressure ventilation for the engine compartment. Hmmmm....

Is the intake not in the grill, like the un-modded cars now?

 

As for the "real hood scoop" decal............nevermind!
