Peeling out.....so embarrassing.

Today after work, I stopped by the Korean market to pick up 2 jars of kimchee. I really didn't want to due to the fact that the smell would linger in the car or the juices could seep out onto the floor mat. Anyways, as I was driving I could hear them clashing together and unfortunately one fell over. I was on a hill at a red light so I leaned over to stand it up. The light turned green and I had a line of cars behind me so I felt rushed and I happened to peel out. It's so embarrassing!! Sometimes I wish I had an automatic.

Lol I know what you mean. But....getting an auto won't exactly solve your problem. It will help, definitely. But fix it, no. Since I've had my reduction pulley installed, its hard to get use to! There's only 9k miles on the car and it ALREADY needs some new rubber.

Oh, and sorry about the spill! Here's a little trick I learned: Grab a dinner plate and some vinegar. Pour some of the vinegar into the plate so it at least covers the surface. Put that in the MINI overnight. It'll small like vinegar for a while, but it should get rid of the other smell!

Jinsun, I wouldn't be shy about it. After all it is a kouper-s with all the specs and torque of a race car. I sometimes on a flat surface peel while making a left or right turn w/o even trying. That noise always brings a smile to my face "just knowing I have a stock race car" And it only get better as I spend more money on it! where as with most cars - hondas, toyotas, etc. you HAVE to spend money JUST to get it that way...... So relax and enjoy!!!! I Definately DO!!!!!

MINIs do not "peel-out". Its about impossible with a FWD. Properly done in a RWD with American Muscle, its an art form.

See Peeling Out

Appropriate usages include:
  1. Looking cool for your buddies
  2. Breaking up with the SO

Don't cha hate it when jarred Kimchee explodes . Not like here in Korea heh? Here it is easy as you know. Get the Kimchee in a plastic bag. No spills or explosions.

And BTW.....it is cool when a lady can do a burn out...especially if it is intentional

Actually it's quite easy to peel out. Which can be quite disconcerting when one is trying cross a busy street, the tires start to slip, and the DSC cuts your throttle, leaving you in the middle of crossing traffic with no throttle

When I started to read the initial post, I thought it was going to be a story about kimchee making for a slippery road. I'm almost disappointed now.

Ya gotta be careful......it can be volatile in a glass jar especially when shaken. The stuff can blow pretty good. I had a jar blow up on my kitchen counter. What a mess.

I'd much rather peel out than have the traction control leave me for dead in the middle of the intersection.

When my Run Flats were getting thinner and thinner in the tread department, the chirps got more and more frequent.
Yesterday I plunked $925.00 down on new Pirelli RFs 205/45/17.... Ugh. The ride is much sweeter though. :-)

Go to Woo-Mi Garden in Weaton. My family used to own it and it is one of the best in the area.

From what I have seen, I am one of the few Asian members we have.

Read the thread

And I stand by what I wrote there. "Peeling out" in a fwd looks silly. Its just not the same thing ...

Its a sixties thing. You peeled out in American muscle to either "show off" ... or more appropriately ...

You got pisseedd at your GF, got in the car, and laid down rubber. Aint you never heard 60s car songs

I had a friend in HS that made an art form out of it. He would take his bone stock '53 Chevy and drive around with the handbrake on till the rears gave way then he would proceed to put down perfect figure 8s by tapping the brakes while smoking the tires.
