how to open the boot?

Does anyone know if there is a botton inside the car to open the boot, just like the one open the bonnet on the front pessanger' seat?
I dont know how to open the boot when my key is in ignition. Every time I
have to turn the engine off and use the botton on the key to open it.
Thanks for advance!!

Exactly, using the door unlock toggle will unlock the boot but it won't pop open like the bonnet.

If you press the button from you key one it will just unlock the drivers door, if you press it 2 time it will unlock the passenger's, fuel cap, and boot.... if you hit you unlock/lock toggle switch it will lock/unlock doors, fuel cap, and boot... also I heard that there's a emergency open mechanism for the boot under the driver's seat on early models.

Good luck,
MaC

Just curious... Has anyone tried pressing the trunk unlock button on the key while the key is in the ignition???

The unlock toggle is easier and more convenient, but I'm just wonderin'...I'll have to try in a bit when I'm in the car...

I'm not 100% sure on the MINI but most cars, if the key is in the ignition then the keyless entry doesn't work.

The buttons on the key do not work when in the ignition.

You can have the remote set to unlock everything with one push of the button.

The is an emergency latch under the back seats to unlock the boot hatch. Not in early 02s. There is also a latch in the drivers side cubby in the boot to open the gas gap.

All this info and more is in the handy manual located in the glove box, which has a latch in the middle of it

I just learned this the other day...

There is no emergency boot release under the seats in the convertables (if you lose power). If you look under the bottom section of the rear seat, there is a small hook. Use it like a hanger to pop the seat-back release on the back of the rear seats and then find the "kid locked in the boot" release. Too funny!

What drives me crazy is how the boot will lock itself after a given amount of time... Still love my MINI though. :-)
