After reading hundreds of MCO postings during my five month wait for the delivery of my MCS, I was apprehensive on how I would fair with a problem-free MCS.

I'm pleased to post a message to all MCOers that at 2,786 miles that I have had no problems, I repeated - no problems.

So don't sweat the small stuff as you wait for your MINI to arrive, product quality is improving at Oxford everyday.

Knock-on-Wood!

I got a very early "S", and I have had three very minor problems which were all fixed in an hour or less. The car is great, and the newer cars have more of the quirks removed. Good luck and have fun.

I've got almost 7,000 mi on my 03 MCS.
I've had a few small issues, but I do have one BIG gripe about this otherwise wonderful car:
the windshield is completely and utterly inadequate, in terms of thickness/strength, as well as in terms of hardness of the glass.
Supposedly the glass is so thin to save on weight. I would GLADLY put in a windshield that weighs as much as 20 lbs more if it were only stronger. The biggest problem for me is currently how easily the glass gets pitted and gets chips and cracks.
I had a major twin chip/crack within my 1st 2 weeks, luckily it was repairable. On my recent cross-country drive (2500 miles) I picked up so many dings, chips and small ponholes that I stopped counting at 50. YES, 50 !!!!!!
This is not normal! MINI needs to do something about this!!!
I am hoping that alternatively some company will come out with a better aftermarket product. I simply cannot afford a new windshield every 3 months.

Count me in. Just passed 2,500 miles with nary a niggle. I am concerned though that if the government finds out how much fun this car is (even when going to mail your tax check), they'll find a way to outlaw it. Clearly, the good folks in the UK are very much on the ball.

I dont know about the windscreen but I picked up over 10 paint chips already - I have a daily grind of 60 miles on a busy freeway and I guess the truck are giving me a free facial scub Boo Hoo...

Trying a coat of wax every week to combat this :???: :???: :???:

Other than that 7000+ miles of briliant fun motoring since dec- though I have just been sent a recal notice on rear screw(bolt)

Everything has been pretty good, except for rattles, a weird clunking from the rear suspension, a bent alignment due to a nasty pothole (both MINIs got that... lol), and a spring popping sound in the back of the driver's seat... but nothing dangerous.

2700+ miles on my PS/B MC since Feb.14th, and besides a rattle or two, no worries. Too much fun- I'm tempted to zip off somewhere every time I get behind the wheel. MINI is a bad influence

19K+ Miles on the MCS ( June '02). Nothing too scary, except I think the Tampa Bay dealer is associated with the Taliban... They hate me. I love the car but I have had the WORST experience with the Tampa Bay dealership everytime.
