R50/53 Build Order Paperwork ? ( to frame! )
Build Order Paperwork ? ( to frame! )
Hi everyone,
As I wile away the time waiting for my MCS to arrive ( and it should be within a week or so now ! )
I recall reading on NAM a post where someone got their paperwork associated with their build instructions - I believe from the plant in UK - and framed it , kind of like the birth certificate for the car!
I've mentioned it to my MA, and he said he's never heard of such a thing.
I've searched thru NAM posts, but can't find any reference.
Is there such a thing? and if so, what do I call it/how do I get them?
Thanks
Mark

I remember a post where someone had framed the window sticker from their car along with the JCW Certificate, not the build instructions. I haven't done a search to find a link for that thread because I can't remember what it was posted under. If I find it, I'll post a link here.
thanks for your help.
I'm not positive I'm accurate with the idea it was the build instruction paperwork used at the plant - but if it's available, would be cool to have.
I'll watch the thread for links, tnx!

Check this thread.
There is frequently an actual build/option sheet inside the car. However, you would probably have to disassemble the car to find it. As the car goes down the line, the sheet is with the car. When it nears the end of the production line, the sheet is often "stuffed" somewhere within the vehicle(like under the carpet, inside headliner). Not every vehicle will have the sheet, but it could be there somewhere. Of course if your luck is like mine, if you went looking for it you would get things disassembled and it wouldn't be there. The ones I have seen are generally not easily read. The options are just letter and number codes in boxes on the sheet.

I think this IS the thread I saw, and indeed - it's the window sticker that he framed ( not a 'build order' ).
Thanks!
I may get my car Friday ( if dealer can get the prep done ), otherwise it will be Monday. It's been since Aug 02, so is now kind of surreal that it's almost here!
Hope I don't get the warning/ticket on the drive home!
