Cracked Parking/Marker Lights?

Both of my parking/marker light covers have cracked. The driver has multiple cracks. one all the way across and others coming from the sides. the passenger side one is well on the way to looking like the driver side.

The dealer says they have to rule out dammage before they can replace w/o charge. There is no indication of impact, nor has my MINI been dammaged...

Has anyone else has this issue?

if so, was your lense replaced w/o charge by the dealer?

~Neal

P.S. This is the light I am talking about.....

I just noticed that my passenger side lens is cracked. Being I have 80K, warranty is not an option. I did replace a side marker some time ago and the the whole unit was under $15 so this may not be that expensive. Looks like a pain to get at though.

When I did my Clear Bra I got the light protection also. So hopefully I will not have the hassle to replace them.

My light was cracked. Out of warranty, but it was replaced by insurance due to some damage from a tree. Don't know if the tree caused the cracked light or if it was something else. However the damage looked consistant with the tree damage.

Broke one ...

washing the car, discovered one busted a while back

never even thought a war' claim - pretty vulnerable area for a rock hit and the lens was gone anyway so how to check?

I expected the worst but recall being surprised at the 'low' cost of the unit. I say unit cuz it came as a unit - both lites and the lens came as a unit. $45ish???? I forget and would need to dig out the receipt.

Comes out by disconnecting the wires and 3 screws. No biggie - except if you can get at those screws w/out removing the bumber cover you are better than I. But the cover comes off easy. Total replacement time less that 1 hour. {exact same process as putting in the angel eye replacements....}

While helping another owner a few weeks ago - I eyeballed his - one was busted and he didn't even know it....
