Called to say hi to the dealer today. Asked him if he has any minis for sale (versus those ordered and waiting to be picked up). He has two S's that are not sold. One has all three packages and I believe is dark grey and white, and the other has the premium and cold weather, I don't remember the color. These are prepped and ready to purchase. Would have to get one way x-port to Ohio, but the drive home could be worth it.
I told him I still would prefer to wait for the one I ordered.

At the Cinci dealer? Are they MSRP? Hmmmm?

 

Located at Mid-Ohio Auto Group in Columbus. You can ask for John (salesperson who has worked with me, and is very good- informative, low-key, good listener, good at problem solving and follow through) or Chad, who is sales manager (also recommended). My experience with the dealership has been very good to date. Sales and service seem well organized, straight forward, and reliable.

Thanks, Doctor. Actually my Cooper is on her way to California right now, but the coolest thing happened! My Corvette-driving husband mentioned that he'd like an S for himself in a few years! Also, he mentioned wanting to "help" to break little MINIclo in after she arrives!

I bet that after he 'tests' out your S, and weeks later when you have had your fill of his Corvette, and give him the ultimatum that you want your S back and don't care if he just wants to drive your S one more day.... that it will be minutes, not years until he wants one for himself!! Maybe it's a good thing that they only come with one key-- guard it.
Let us know when you get yours and how you like it. Mine is en route. I'm getting excited (and not just mini-excited).

He's waiting for the S to offer 200+ HP as its regular engine. Living in L.A., I won't have too many opportunities to use the S's 6-sp. tranny, and like the 5-speed for around-town driving.
