AAARRRGGGHHH - I wrecked my MINI

Last night I wrecked my beautiful car.

As you can see from the last pic, the crumple zone did what it was supposed to do, the passenger compartment protected me and I was not injured. Nor was the driver of the other car, thankfully. I was making a left turn on a four-lane highway and was behind a large truck, so I could not see very well. We had a green light, but we did not have the green arrow, apparently. He made it, I didn't. I was given the ticket.

I am waiting to hear the insurance adjuster's verdict. I got the car on May 5 and it has about 11,000 miles.

As you can imagine I am sick about this.

Firstly, Glad everyone's ok...it can be replaced!

2nd, if that's a parcel tray I see, I'd grab it before the cars gone.

Yeah, yeah, and the cupholder, and the tow hook... speaking of which, did they use the tow hook?

I'm really sorry to hear about your car. But the other guy should be a little bit at fault. I assume you ran a red light and he was accellerating from a stop. He should have seen your car right in front of him. He must have just gone on the green without even looking to see what was in front of him.

(sorry if I'm jumping to an incorrect conclusion)

From the sounds of it, he's completely at fault. Glad everyone is ok.

My heart goes out to you!

Check out crashes and re"cooper"ations. I wrecked my mini after only having it three weeks!!! Basically the same way you wrecked yours. We are into the Seventh Week now and I am about to get her back. I Know How you Feel!!
Totally Heartbreaking!!!
I don't think I will ever get the pit from out of the bottom of my bellie!
I just saw the first set of the re"cooper"ation of ole' blackeyedsuzie and it just pains me to see her like that.

So Glad you are all okay. I was unlucky enough to be run over by a cop and his pregnant young wife. But all of us are alright. The Car Did It's Job, Too Bad the Driver Didn't!

sounds like he was turning across traffic on a green light. Unfortunately, he didn't have the right away.

I hate driving behind big trucks. They block everything, and you can't see around them to see if it's safe. I just hang back and wait. Sorry about your car, and thankful, you are ok. Looks like it was a pretty significant impact. Hopefully, everything will be worked out quickly.

Okay, I get it now. Sorry.

Glad to hear your okay. I'm always bragging to my friends about how safe our cars really are. Here's yet another example to back it up.

Wow, davavd, I got a bit sick to my stomach just looking at the pics. So, I can't even imagine how you must be feeling about this.

As many have already said, so glad you nor anyone else was injured !

With today's technology in auto body repair, when it's done, not even you will be able to tell it was in an accident by looking at her.

Best wishes for a smooth process of getting your baby back in her usual, beautiful condition !

You turned left into oncoming traffic? Ouch! Glad it's only sheetmetal that was hurt. Looks like the engineers at MINI did their jobs well. The crumple zones absorbed the brunt of the impact, leaving the cockpit intact and secure. You can always get another vehicle, but you can't replace a lost limb or an eye. The lesson learned is a hard one, but as the sage says, "If you've gotta lose something, better its from the garage than the house".

I'm glad all involved are Ok. I know your car looks bad to you, but I'd guess they'll fix it as good as new. Hang in there.

That_sucks...

...but glad to hear that everybody is ok. Give it some time and let us know what happens.

I "tagged" another car from behind two days ago in my work MINI, going 5-10mph trying to merge; she's trying to claim injuries. There was no visible damage, no air bag deployments, nothing serious at all except for the acting. We'll see what happens.

Greg

I'm hoping you can get it repaired, because you won't be able to replace it with a new 06.

Bloody sorry to hear about it!
