MINI Cooper S Rescue Vehicle

UPDATE on 2nd page!

ALRIGHT!

My name is Jordan from San Antonio, TX and I currently drive a 2001 Volvo s80 T6 268hp sedan. I am currently looking to bail out of my s80 and jump into a MCS.

I am a firefighter/EMT here in Texas that specializes in rescue. My s80 is equipped with lights and sirens. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdgrmgpBJJY) <---Video here. I need to be able to do the same with the MCS. Is this possible?

I guess the biggest concern I have is the price. I want to get into any MCS MT (preferably not Red) with less than 50k on the clock for 15k? Am I crazy or is this a task that can be accomplished?

I look forward to your responses and insight! I hope this can be done!

I dont think your goal is totally realistic, just shop around alittle. You'll be able to find a MINI that will suit your needs, and your wallet in due time.

Put your cursor over the name at the top of the post, one of the options is PM. I had a little trouble w/ that , too.

As for the price...I think your price is a little low. The majority that I've seen usually go for ~$17-20k for a used MCS, depending on location, miles, packages, etc. Just to give you an example, I bought my fully loaded (minus NAV and HK) with 47k miles on it for $17k, which was a steal in my eyes.

Honestly, I don't think your going to be able to find an MCS that cheap....but look around!

It's also nice to see someone in FF/EMT. I'm in school for Police/EMT.

Thanks for all the kind replies!

I am now looking in the 17k range and have found what I hope to be a steal only problem is that its located in Florida. Myabe with all the friendly folks on this forum I could get someone to check it out. Anyways the details on the vehicle is as follows.

27k on the odometer
Silver
$16,800

This vehicle has a 1.6L I4 OHC engine and a manual transmission. It includes Power Door Locks, Power Windows, Heated Seats, Bucket Seats, Leather Seats, Traction Control, CD Player, AM/FM Radio, Air Conditioning, Clock, Trip Odometer, Anti-lock Brakes, Tilt Steering Wheel, Cruise Control, Leather Wrapped St., Reclining Seats, Tachometer, Vanity Mirror, Interval Wipers, Power Outlet, Cup holder, Inside Hood Release, Courtesy Lights, Carpeting, Rear Defroster, Rear Wiper, Alloy Wheels, Rear Shoulder Harness, and Power Mirrors.

Any thoughts

Here is one with 45K with options for $15900 or make offer.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mini-...38822562QQrdZ1

Here is another with 44K at $14900

Sounds like there are Mini's everywhere for around $15K with 40-50K miles. :-)

Or another with 73K here for $14K Here

Well.....one thing to make sure of, if they say leather, they are probably wrong. Most MINI's come with leatherette, which is LIKE leather, but it's NOT leather. The way you can tell the difference between leatherette and leather are the lumbar control ***** on the side of the seat (in the middle, by where an armrest would go. Leather has the *****, leatherette does not!). The leather was, I believe a $1,250 option in 02'+, then it changed to like $1,300 sometime after that.

I think bumped up to $17K would get you a good car. I can't wait to see a MINI all outfitted in lights and sirens. PLEASE post a pic for all to see when you get it????

In my area there are specialty shops that do emergency light installs for police cars (private cars are used for police duty)- they might be able to help or give an estimate.

For ideas-

But don't forget the flames on the bonnet!
