RC Beats Mini GP

Of course the RC car had the advantage of the home track. How about trying Silverstone next time?

They should have used a Tamiya M03L (there is pix of a Tamiya M03L in my gallery) as then it would have been 1:10 scale FWD vs 1:1 Scale FWD.

Cool little video, I have an HPI EVO 3 Nitro sitting right above me right now....super fast car! RC cars are truly amazing.

Here's my EVO 3 with a different engine on the left, and my friends Nitro TC3:

I luaghed out loud at the shot where the little RC is shooting by from right to left and then the MINI appears just behind. Good one.

I have a Kyosyo was the two speed tranny in it. Man alive those cars are fast. That HPI was that OZ engine is pretty sweet. I used to race RC cars back in the day. It was fun :-). Expecially all the different types of tires and shock design that you could change.

They need to put an actual driver in the Mini. Same course, same conditions.....Mini will win. Did you see how many times she got the car sideways. Or did you hear her mention the "hand brake turn"......not good for fast lap time. But I think it made for good pictures.

Remember that BOTH cars were out of their element. The kart track is too small for the MINI and too big for the R/C car.

On a banked NASCAR oval, the MINI would have wiped the floor with the R/C and probably would also outrun a Top Fuel Dragster in a 3 lap race.car whereas the MINI would destroy a Top Fuel Dragster on an autocross course.

On the Rubicon Trail, a humble Jeep would outrun the MINI, the R/C car, AND the dragster.

The fastest car depends on WHERE it's running.

I thought the whole thing was cool, and the track while being sub-optimal for both cars was probably the most fair compromise available.

Rawhyde

PS My R/C cars are 4WD nitro fueled off-roaders. T-Maxx and Nitro Stampede. Lots of fun!!

That is so good and I love that Top Gear show can't wait for it to come back on. By the way that girl is pretty hot and it is pretty cool how well she can drive.

For those of you who don't know Vicki Butler-Henderson, is an accomplished driver.

Man they shoudln't have used a elec car. Has great off the line speed but no top end. Would have been great to see a Nitro Evo with a 3.3 on it, if they ould have kept it straight lol. Also Cody nice evo. Just bought myself another TC4 for my roadcourse racing. And a Jato 3.3. I love that little truck,it pulls wheelies with no problem.

If you watch the vid again, they said he was using a Nitro Evo for the race.

Wrong its elec. Its a brushless motor. You would have seen the exhaust coming out if it was a nitro car. Anything over 20% nitro burns blue.
