I wanted to know where, besides the Mini dealer, can I get the OEM rear fog light kit as well as the installation instructions. Thanks in advance for your help

Its alot more to get if afterwards than with your order. I called and asked once and they wanted $800 labor + parts.

I know. I should have done it when I placed the order but thought I would not need it where I live. But after reading some posts about the missing switch in the panel as well as how cool it looks I wanted to have it ordered but my MA said it was too late.

yeah on a hyper blue it looks neat.

do you get that much fog at night in puerto rico??!!

must be nice down there in October... ahh... we all should visit you!

I heard that an 06 is equiped with the harness even if you dont get the option and its fast to install. but he controls are probably a pain to install for the toggle area.

That's about what my dealer in St. Louis quoted. PLUS, I have to drive 4 hrs. to even get there AND leave my baby...THEN go back. I passed on the fog lights needless to say.

It is easy to do. Max cost is around $150...
$60 for the 6 position toggle switch, $20 for the light, $20 for the retrofit harness unless you have a late 05 or 06. $50 to have it programmed in. Put an Ian Up Windows mod at the same time. It is EASY to do.

So, Vaz', you gonna do it?? Mistro's info makes it tempting, but these things have a way of getting complicated. Even when its supposed to be easy, I will find a way to have a problem.... if you have to drive the car to work in the middle of the job, can you? I have been thinking about this, too, but $800 is DEFINITELY out of the question for me, whereas $150 is not.

It's not a difficult job at all. Just a few screws and a few connections. It won't leave your ride stranded while you hitchhike to work. You WILL need to take it to the dealer to have them tell the BC1 that you have the rear fog in order for it to work .

That's price is crazy if the car is already wired for it (05 and 06 are). I just had the rear fog installed on my 05 Cabrio by Roadshow MINI in Memphis. Total cost (parts, labor, and sales tax) was $257.31 ($126.63 for parts) and it only took about an hour for the installation. I have a list of parts/numbers/prices from my installation of interested. As said before, even if you do the installation yourself you will still need to go to a dealer to have the computer "told" to let it work.

I had my car retrofitted for about $120 at the dealer. We are talking about the rear light, correct? $800 is obscene even for MINI.

Thanks for the advice. I have not checked with the dealer, how much is the installation $$ . I will tell you later. I am willing to spend from 200 to 250$ but 800 is absurd. Mishka, if you can send me the parts/numbers and price I will appreciate it a lot. That way I can negotiate with the dealer. Besides, if my car is pre-wiered, then it could not be that difficult to do it yourself. That way I can only pay for the computer job which should make it cheaper. To El Jefe, no we do not get that much fog in Puerto Rico. Only in December and it happens on the towns near the mountains, I just want it because it makes the car looks good!

I think $800 is to retrofit those freaky early 05 models built between July and October 2004 (I call 'em 041/2s). I think. The last I asked, tho (and it's been awhile) it could not be done w/o extensive harness retrofitting.

The parts are real cheap if u order from Classic and tell 'em you're a NAMMER.

$800 is about what my dealer charges for the OEM driving lights, so $800 for a rear fog seems just plain nutty.

I was told 700 from MINI of Manhattan, and though a little better its still a ridiculous amount of money for me, being that im in high school with a part time job but i was asking for the two fog lights in frontI didnt even think of the rear actually, maybe the 700 quote was for all of them? if it is i might use some birthday cash, being that next wednesday is my bday

Today I got a quote from my Mini dealer and believe it or not, they said the kit costs $215 not including installation . I can get it for less than 125 at Classic (thanks a lot for the advice SEQUENCE )
