Silver U-Shaped Hood Decal for MCS

Does this decal go all the way around the intake scoop or do you have to remove the scoop and paint it to get the full effect? Steve

You would need to paint a hood scoop, but I would buy a second scoop and paint that, so you always have the option to return to your factory paint colored scoop later.

Do not let your dealer tell you that ordering the U-Shaped stripe and bonnet scoop is VIN specific. For whatever reason a dealer would not let me order these parts since I did not have the VIN of a Checkmate Package.

There is a seperate part number for both the stripe and non-painted scoop. Both can be ordered regardless of whether you have a Checkmate Package.

Your dealer is full of it - the U stripe was not specific to the Checkmate package. It was available for the '06 models when ordering the silver roof. My '06 MCS HB/S has this stripe. As to the original question, the scoop is silver and forms the bottom of the U.

Hey Rhawth99...I was looking at the build of your MINI and noticed that you ordered the Gray/Black leatherette as well. When I built my car on the MINI website I noticed in the pictures that the horizontal seams of the seat-bottoms were different than that of the Black/Black leatherette seat. The seat-bottom of the Gray/Black looks more "flat".

If you build a car on the MINI website you'll see what I am talking about, but I am hoping that the pic on the site is wrong. Do you have any pics of your interior showing the seats?

Thanks minigrrl000!

Your seats are exactly how they appear on the MINI site for the MCS, I guess it's the same seat? We'll find out soon enough!

minigrrl000 and rare1:
My seats do not look like the ones on the configurator or minigrrl's seats - mine has the two lines across them like the black leatherette shows on the configurator. I will try to post a shot when I get home tonight. I never paid any attention to the how the leatherette showed up on the configurator as I ordered mine with the cloth but the cloth was unavailable for a couple of months. I'm not a fan of leatherette (vinyl by any other name) seats.

Awesome, thanks for the picture rhawth99! Although minor, I don't see how MINIusa can make this mistake on their site.

I am not a fan of leatherette either, but I did want the gray contrast on the seat just to break up all the black and anthracite in the car. Had there been a gray/black leather seat available I would've gotten them.
