This weekend we had our usual neighborhood cul-de-sac get together barbecue.
Everyone knew that we have owned MINIhune for 3 weeks now and wondered where is she. This is a get together, not a MINI show, right?!

Somehow they managed to coerced me to bring out MINIhune into the cul-de-sac.
They opened up everything, boot, bonnet, glove box, and peered into every nook and cranny.
That's when the barrage of questions began.....
"Where is the wind up crank?"
"Can you really fit in that 'lil car?"
"Do you have to wear a clown suit?"

Excellent show. I was kinda surprised myself the first time I had 3 other adults in my MCS. Still did pretty good on the pickup. Looked like I had coilovers set to low, but it still put on a good show. Happy Motorin'
Cheers,

Great story...great narrative, too! (...I felt like I was there!!) My fist test drive was in a Cooper with 4 adults through a very curvey array of interconnected highway access ramps. Anyway, loaded down as the MINI was...as we drove my passengers started to look a little worried (...and a tad green) and became very silent. The Cooper performed flawlessly. I was sold. So were they...

Thanks, jds

My neighbors now have a new found respect for me and MINIhune.
They came up to me today and said they couldn't believe that 'lil car can handle like a go cart with 4 "clowns" in it and that I can drive that well (been auto-Xing for 7 years)

Maybe they're just used to seeing me drive our boring "family car" Honda CRV

Hi Kohu'ulaMINI,

Sounds like you've been enjoying MINIhune. I guess it will take a bit of time to break her in, living on the island. Felix is doing well - he's over 2k now.

I love to hear how you're creating other MINI converts.... We need more MINIs on the road and fewer SUVs!

Mahalo, Ins1122

Looking at your pic in sig., you're neighborhood has that "white stuff" on the ground.
What is that stuff?
