I would just be very careful in activating your horn about not pressing anywhere near the MINI logo in the middle of the "horn ring" area. You will find MANY threads here about all the trouble people are having with MINI logos on their steering wheels that are peeling off - and since the logo sits on top of the airbag system, you need to replace the whole airbag to get a new logo. Pressing the plastic near the logo is the fastest way to unseat the logo and lead it to bubble up and fall off.

Look for the horn buttons on your ring (outside the chrome ring on the 3-spoke I believe) and press there so you don't disturb the logo.

Hard to do in a panic situation I know...
