MINI in top 10 most satisfying 06 cars

http://www.forbesautos.com/news/head...atisfying.html

MINI ranked #8.
"Customers treat their Minis like their pets," said Rich Steinberg, Mini USA's manager of product strategy, noting that more than 10,000 owners have put their names in the company's database. ...
It's easy to see how Mini has created an enviable level of owner enthusiasm. The Cooper is among the market's top vehicles in owner satisfaction ratings.
"I won't pretend that our quality is top-notch," said Steinberg, "but our owners put up with quirks, because that's part of the ownership experience."

The manager of product strategy admits that? What exactly is his strategy?

It is a cute article, and pretty much hits the nail on the head as far as owners loving their MINIs, but I still find it odd that he would say that outright (even if it is true ).

Com'on he's being honest and how many corporations this day and age can claim that.

What you would have thought if he claimed their cars are of a great quailty?

MINI ranked #7? What vehicle could possibly be more satisfying than a MINI? The only vehicles that could compare to my Coop in satisfaction would be the MC cabrio, MCS, MCS cabrio...

You mean Mini doesn't have top quality ? I don't know how good his strategy is, because that does give me pause in considering my purchase of one.
I was under the impression that the 06's were pretty much bullet proof.

Read the article ... Seek, and ye shall find

Several Toyotas (just for C4) are ahead of it.

That comes with the cold-weather package, it isn't standard.

But only if you check off the Kevler option

Yeah, I realize that the problems of a mini are due to its 100% new design, 100% new factory, everything is new about it except the basic parts of the motor and some bmw small parts.

It is funny how I passed on a 2006 supercharged scion for this knowing that the scion was most likely going to be more reliable.

I don't understand the Armada either. The thing gets about 3 mpg and is a lousy tow vehicle too.

I see the Lexus 350 made the list. Isn't that the hybrid SUV? Or, more too the point, the 21st century version of the perpetual motion machine? Have not heard any talk about a hybrid Mini, --sure hope that technological snake oil stays in its can for now since I for one consider the whole hybrid thing to be a marketing ploy and litttle else once all the energy to manufacture the car is included in its effeciency (or lack there of) rating.

Why even bother with a hybrid MINI. It gets good enough gas mileage for the fun it produces.
