I just dont know :(

Hey guys/gals. I've been debating wether or not to sell my 02 MCS. I purchased this bad boy with cool intentions of pimpin it out and pretty much whatever I could do to make it faster. Things didnt quite work out that way though. I soon after joined the US Army and now Im barely able just to stay afloat w/all my bills. Im in a VERY stressful school right now, and the weekends is all I have to keep my sanity. So Im wondering If maybe I should just sell my MCS, and If I did try to... would it be hard to sell for 18k?

What are you guys/girls opinions?
Im in the Pensicola/Panama City area in Ft. Walton Beach Fl.
The car is pretty much Mint w/40k highway miles
Nothing wrong with it. Plus I baby it.

Am I going to have to put up a big effort to sell it at this price?

Finally! When I was a NAM pledge I was given the difficult task of catching Yucca Patrol (then YuccaPatrol) making a mistake. Relax, Vertigo, you had given the model year:

Decisions decisions decisions...

Hey Vertigo, i don't think you'll have trouble selling the car for $18k and in fact if your able, you can sell it for $20k. I know it sounds almost impossible but their is always a sucker out there...it's true!

Anyway, it's unfortunate to see another MINI owner going through this much decision thinking and it's good that you ask for everyones opinion. Now in my opinion, like i mentioned above, it's possible...will you be heartbroken...yes (don't tell me otherwise, or else you would of already sold it) so, one thing you have to think about is, how much are you willing to sacrifice over a car? which by the way, since you've owned one now, chances of you owning another (if you love it so much) is exponential. And what i mean about sacrificing is, your job, your school and more importantly your health. If what you're saying is true, that your all stressed out and you barely stay "afloat" with all your bills, if i were in your shoes, i'd sell it. It'll suck but i'm not going to sacrifice everything else because of material. I'm pretty sure, if you stick to your **** you'll be getting another within the next few years.

I've seen lots of people making the mistake of sacrificing things over their health or family (if they had) or whatever it is. It's not a pretty thing to go through if your in a hole 10 ft under and you have no way out. Thats what i think, maybe i wrote to much and all of this is "bla bla bla" to you, take as you want it and good luck.

Giancarlo

Vertigo, I moved your thread from Off Topic to MINI Talk, where it will be seen by more people.

If you decide to sell your MINI, please post a new thread to the Marketplace forum.

Hey Veritgo, My two cents. Sell it. At the end of the day, it's just a car. (OK a very cool, somewhat addictive car, but still just a car). Sounds like you've got you head in the right direction. Keep you bills down, enjoy what free time you have and when you can afford a mini without the stress, then go get a new one. Good luck to ya. Oh by the way, thanks for serving

To best answer that, search back through the MINIs for sale in the marketplace and read the threads. Your answer is most likely there.

Good Luck

Wow, thanx for the quick responses guys but guess WHAT!? Im keeping My little buddy after all! Well atleast for now. I was seriously almost in tears yesterday, but I reworked a budget, and now I'll have my payments done at the end of the month, plus I'll have a good little chunk extra. Thanx to the help of a very special person in my life.

I feel so relieved
Thanx everyone! looks like I'll be hangin around for a bit longer!

Good to hear.

Just be careful out there. Nobody needs any extra expenses from an accident or other event to slow you or your MINI down.

Having a budget and sticking to it is great. Your MINI is an asset and if needed you CAN sell it, but for now you can keep it. There is a demand for it. I'd estimate that $18,000 is not unreasonable given the 40K miles. If lower on miles then $19K+. I've seen low mile 2002 MC for $16K in my area.

Now come on, those two sentences don't go together

Redneck Riviera and stress

I spent a few years down in LA on activy duty and the only stress we had in PC was waiting in traffic to cross the bridge to get to the beer.

Good luck with the school and congrats on keeping the car
