Oddity of the day. On the way to work after picking up a friend. On the highway, cruising behind a pickup about a car and a half distance away, after stopping at an intersection. Out of nowhere, a chunk of insulation floats out of the bed of the truck. Not too big. About the size of a dinner plate. We both see it float up and then down right away in front of my MCS. Look to see if it came out the back. No cigar. I was pretty certain it got sucked into the scoop. I turn to my friend and say, "Man, I thik that just got sucked into my hood." Didn't really see it go in, but I was pretty sure. Just to see if so, I pull over where it was safe to do so, and pop the hood. Sure enough, there is wasa right on top of the intercooler, covering most of it up. Sucked it right in. Kind of an amusing progresion of it just casually floating out of the truck's box, did a fake to the right, gently sailing down, and then poof. Good thing I pulled over to check. Anyone else have one of these moments? Hole in one! It was kinda weird.

Do you ever watch Speedvision? I was watching one of those Australain V8 Supercars races and the guy in the lead hit 2, count 'em, 2! plastic bags and they covered up almost his entire radiator. Fortunately he had a huge lead and there were only a few laps left, so he still stayed out front, but imagine losing power like that with those kinds of stakes! Such is life

From where? I'd love one... (Or maybe homemade? Doesn't look too hard to build...)

I did one for my MCS as well. Looks AWESOME!! I kept mine in the Aluminum look, but it might look good painted black as well to match the Aero Kit if you got one.

CHEAP to do, just run to Home Depot or Menards

Mini Cooper Parts already has...If you don't want to put the effort into cutting it out your self. I can actually get about 4 grilles out of the same piece of aluminum.

nullYou can buy them precut as well.

That's a pretty cool mod. Damn, what are the chances of something getting scooped in there!
