R50/53 electric blue and dirt
My parking spot is under a tree....so the birds love it. I think
eb doesn't show the dirt as much as ib....but I wash the car
at least once a week. As a matter of fact, I have just enlisted
a young girl who will wash it for me once a week. She is trying
to earn money for horseback riding lessons. She is about 10
years old and does all kinds of odd jobs...and I think she is
probably making more money than I do.

IB...and probably all the dark colors...really do show the dirt! This is the first car I've had that was this dark and...while I love the color...it does need some care. I mean, if it wasn't a car everybody looked at, or one I didn't LUV...it'd be no problem. As it is I've been to the car wash (though I do most of it by hand) 2-3 times a week at most. I use that California Duster a lot, too...sometimes 3 times a day. Overall it's been a great time to bond with my car...who knows how I'll feel a year from now! I've always loved EB ...(almost bought a classic Mini that color)...it certainly wouldn't show dirt as much, but it was just not available on Coopers. ON THE OTHER HAND...dirt is dirt! I may still be cleaning and washing an EB just as much just to keep that awesome sparkle!

Bird oops aside, EB does ok. My old suby wagon in spruce pearl (ok, metallic dark green) did worse in terms of showing dirt. I think EB is a decent compromise between dark colors that show dust a lot, and very light colors that show dark dirt a lot.
All that said, the white 16" V-spokes sure get really, really dirty. They also show black spots that appear embedded in the paint!!!
Cheers,
Markus

Well, since everyone got away from the topic, i wont.....I have an EB and it takes at least 2 weeks to notice dirt. If its an even dust that sets on the EB it is practically impossible to notice, when you drive through mud and stuff, that of course shows. My windows get dirty before the rest of the car, being dark and all. I love my EB, and spend hours just staring close to the body of the car the color, it is so rich and wonderful, I couldnt have it any other way. I think I will paint my bedroom in EB with a white ceiling, or the other way around to get that nice electric blue sky feeling to the room. Ah, the nutcases we mini owners are!

My EB gets pretty dirty as well, but unlike darker or lighter colors, the color seems to almost...fade...like a shirt that's been washed too many times when it gets dirty. After a wash and a wax, it's like BAM! COLOR'S BACK! right in the forehead
The V-spokes do get seriously nasty, and once they're cleaned and waxed, it makes it much easier to clean them. They just take a really long time to clean.
By the way, have you tried using Eagle One A2Z Wheel Cleaner on your wheels? I got out 98% of my brake dust particles, even the really really stubborn ones. I used a "gentle" wheel brush that I got from the neighborhood Wal-Mart to agitate the cleaner on the wheel. Just be sure you wax the wheels right afterward, or you'll invite the same problem again and again.
I think once the warrantly runs out, I'm going to switch brake pads to Green Stuff, which cuts down on the brake dust yuckies. BMW drivers have known about this little secret for years.
Hope this helps!

I have to agree. My EB/W does get dirty to the point I can tell the difference, but it’s hard for someone else to tell from a distance.
I find the darker colours show dirt much faster than mine. I don’t have any MINI’s in the area to compare it to, but the darker paint cars.
