damn, I wish our rush our traffic drove at 70mph. In Socal we are lucky to hit 25mph on the 405!!!

speaking of dogs...my lovely, sweet golden retriever was ball obsessed. My girlfriend and I decided to take our dogs to the dog beach in OC. I'm cruising along, dog nose sticking out the window, when this lady pulls up beside me. We are going about 70-80mph. Light traffic in LA=normal traffic in the majority of the US. She smiles, tells me the dog is soooo cute, and then proceeds to tell me that his ball (a $10 indestructable hard rubber bouncy ball) is behind the car bouncing down the road. Why? Because he dropped it out the window! Luckily, no one had to swerve to miss the ball, and it didn't hit any cars. I was horrified! Lesson learned, he is never allowed to hold the ball in his mouth while driving in the car. So he places it in my cup holder.

Lets give it up for the person who decides to make a left hand turn from the right hand lane.

While keeping an eye on him because of traffic, I notice a McDonalds bag come flying out the window. Then a coffee cup. Then two more McDonalds bags. I was so glad I was in front of him. Had I been behind him, I know I would have had a wreck because instinct would have made me jerk into the middle lane or the emergency lane. I was coming home and on my (2-lane) exit ramp off the parkway. The guy in front of me throws and entire styrofoam container full of the fried rice he didn't feel like eating right out the driver's side window, into the roadway.

There's a no-turn-on-red traffic signal at the end of the ramp. I rolled up to him, on the left, and asked him somrthing along the lines of, 'whadid your mama raise you to be such an effin' (real expletive deleted here) slob?! He gave me a look that I can't quite describe, except that is contained anger, embarrassment, and a greasy face. Then he made his illegal right-turn-on-red and split. Stupid F.

Believe me, I've been tempted. Gone so far as to shop Triumph Bonnevilles. But aside from, as an old friend called it, "that whole losing your skin thing", I have no interested in riding in the rain, cold, or blistering heat. Which leaves me with...oh...two months or so of good, solid riding here in Texas.

Not in equal parts to the heat...but yes, we do. And ice, too (okay, once every two years).

I know a guy who watched a bunch of kids in a pick up toss out a bag at an intersection going into a mall. He was right behind them and had to stop for traffic, also. He grabbed the bag, put it in the back of his pick up and followed them into the parking lot. Once they found their parking space, he pulled up behind them and as they got out, tossed their trash into the back of their truck and said "You dropped this back at the intersection, so I thought I would bring it back to you. Next time use a trash can." and drove off.

He said he would have loved to have a picture of the look on their faces!
