I see mini coopers that have a GB on the back boot. Can anyone please tell me what the GB means.

In 1969, the UN (United Nations ) intiated this . When you take your car to another country you must display the car's point of origin on the rear of the car.
Since most of the license plates around the world are only numbers and have no country designation on them, usually this is done with a decal/sticker with the 1- or 2- (or 3?) letter country code. The code for Great Britain is GB. For Germany, D for Deutschland, etc.
There are many variations of these stickers sold here. The standard white on black letters or the reverse is mostly used in Europe. Flashier versions are sold and displayed here in the States, because we love to gob up our cars with stickers over here.
For the 1999/2000 Rover MINI 40 LE (40th Anniversary Limited Edition), the GB was standard in chrome on the boot an may have been also on other Classic Minis.
For the new MINI, I'm not sure if one of the Special Editions comes with the GB badge or not. You can buy a set at Mini Mania, if you like...or you can pay a lot from MINI for one.
More than you wanted to know, I'm sure. Wanna know more? Go here.
