Upcoming Road Trip WI-MI Any Suggestions?

Hey NAM,
I'll be travelling from Madison, WI to Ann Arbor, MI next week, I've done the route via the Interstate a few times and am looking for something a little more exciting. Anyone know of anything more exciting once I get to Indiana/Michigan? I-94 is proving to be too straight.

I must concur. Just to let you know, I live in Ann Arbor, MI. So if you're new to the town, feel free to PM me, and maybe we could get together and see the sights?

I couldn't help but think, head north through the UP of MI then back down towards Ann Arbor.

Is there not a ferry? I think it would be fun to take it either there or back. I know that it is a road trip but around the lake is a LONG drive. There is always fun stuff to do in Chicago if you plan on going through IL. There are some good roads north of chicago along the lake.

BTW... I just got a ticket couple weeks ago at Indiana when I drive back from Michigan to Madison on I94. There is a section with 55mph speed limit, so just be aware.

Cross lake ferry

A ferry makes the trip from Milwaukee to Muskegon MI in 2.5 hours (I think)
the web address is www.lake-express.com.
If you take the ferry and the weather is nice take a right onto Lakeshore Drive when leaving the ferry dock, a couple miles down the road you will run into Pere Marquette Park. Over 1 mile of white sand public beach provided to the world by God and the wonderful residents of the City of Muskegon. With sunsets as grand as any you will ever see on the other west coast.
