Yeah, I'll second that! It was great fun tooling around the track and meeting fellow MINI owners from the region. Good job Classic, hope it was a success for you and decide to do it again next year.

I must say I was very skeptical that Classic could pull the "Track Day" off without some major accidents or even a few wrecks considering the most of the drivers have never set foot on a real race track before.
I think everyone wanted to have a good safe time. The staff at Classic MINI and Nelson Ledges did a great job at keeping it a safe and really fun event. Way to go Classic MINI!!

OH CRAP, that was yesterday?!?!?! I never got my invite. :( :( :( Maybe next year. I'm heartbroken. I went to the one two years ago, and it was fantastic. I'm so sorry I missed it...

Wonder why I didn't get an invitation, I've bought two of my three MCS's from them.

Thanks Classic!!! :-)

Yes Classic did a great job as did those folks at Nelson Ledges. What a wonderful thing to do for your customers. My next car will come from there. There are a few things that need work, but for a first time effort A+ excellent. What a great day. I was smiling so much my jaw hurt. Heck I'm still smiling.

gt6, my guess is they thought no one from that far away would come. Next year call them & ask to be on their mailing for the event.

Thanks Classic MINI! pics

First off, I too would like to give a HUGE shout out to all of the Classic MINI salesteam. I know a lot us bought our MINI's under the last sales "regime", but the new group of sales people are be doing a great job.

I also didn't not recieve an invite which left me wondering, but when I heard about the Rally, I just called Classic and I was on the list. The one thing they didn't tell me was to bring a helmet, long pants and shirt. BOO! I thought my chances were over to get on the track, but General Mgr Jimmy Brown came through for me with not only a helmet, but a pair of his own pants and a shirt. I told him not to go to so much trouble, but he said he felt bad I hadn't recieved an invite and was going to make sure I got to race.

Well, what a life changing experience being on the track. I drove "Austin" THE hardest I ever have and I loved it. I finally know the limits to my car and can't wait for next year. I had to had the chance to be on the track twice and I must say, I had ALOT of Cooper S's that actually got in my way in the turns, just for them to pull away in the straights so much that I couldn't pass. BOO! I much preferred racing the first time with just Coopers. It was like and IROC thing as we were all pretty well matched which made more fun.

THANK YOU CLASSIC MINI.

P.S. if Dillon and Ryan from the rally read this, I'm sorry I gave an incorrect email address so contact me here!! Cheers!

It was a blast out there on Sunday! The food was good, and I got tons more track time than I expected, I should've topped up the gas tank before I started running, I had to stop early because I was on fumes. I was the first car out in group C, and once the pace car pulled off, I got a chance to really wring out my Hoosier's on an open track before playing with the other cars on track. I think this really says something about the people at Classic MINI, it sure makes me feel like a valued customer to be invited to such an event! I was really impressed when I was stopped by the finance guy (sorry, can't remember his name, only met him once when I was signing the papers...), he called me out by name and wanted to make sure I was enjoying myself, how in the heck he remembered my name with all the MINI owners he must see is beyond me! Way to go Classic!!!

My only regret is that I didn't have a chance to talk with enough people, did talk to a few people who had questions about the trailer I pulled behind my MINI with the race tires on it, but I hope to talk to more next year!

Hey I was there too! Classic let me borrow a car for some track time because my Mini's still on order. I was really impressed they let me do that. Great folks!

Does someone on here happen to have the plate that reads "R U EZ"? If so that was me riding your, errr, following you around the track. Great sounding car though, I wanted to catch the owner to see what mods they had made.

We missed the trophy portion of the event, how did they pick folks? I was on the track when they did that...

I can't wait to get back to an open track day at the Nelson course with my own car!

Bummer, I just read all the posts and see some folks didn't get invited! I'll be sure to post something here next year if I get invited, BEFORE the event so folks can contact Classic about attending if you don't happen to get a mailing. Hopefully it's at the road course again next year!
