Who thinks the faster you drive your MINI the better it drives. I am not saying to drive overly fast or reckless but boy he seems to drive fantastic cruising at 90 mph but I try not to take the curves so fast maybe 60 or so
I absolutely love my MINI!!!!!

Are you in a Cooper or an S? I've never had mine cruising that fast. (...for very long! ) Curves?...depends on how tight. Done some tight one's at 50...nice! This car loves to be driven!...however, most of my driving is in town, so I'm fairly conservative.....usually.

JDS, I have a Cooper and I think it has plenty of umph...I too overall drive somewhat conservatively in terms of revving the engine since I want to hold on to the Cooper for a long time ...driving my MINI is the most fun I have had since I was a kid riding my big wheels and driving go karts.

I remember reading R&T review of taking highway ramps at twice the posted speed...must say, it does...I constantly find myself going 20 mph over the highway speed limit. This car cruises so easily and has an excellent ride quality even at higher speeds...not around town though.

I agree, Jazzy Josh, the Cooper LOVES to go 90mph.

And don't listen to a word Koolmini says about speeding. He is the East Coast's worse offender. Only Koolmini would pass a caravan of MINIs doing over 90 in front of a NY state trooper!!

I don't race or anything, but I'm starting to get embarassed...the light turns green...I take off in my usual conservative fashion...and ALL the other cars are still WAY behind me. I'm not even trying! I'm not even thinking of trying! Is it me or my Cooper?....I've decided to blame it on the car. The police will accept that, won't they???

My MCS is solid as a rock at 132MPH on the Autobahn, with the wife and kids on a Sunday drive.

I wish Kentucky had an Autobahn. And I also wish I had my MINI - about a week and a half to go.

Jazzy... Glad you love your MINI. Me too!

I will note though that when in my MINI, I tend to do the driving and I trust that the car will follow suit. Sounds like yours may have a mind of its own

But yes, the car cruises well at 90. I tend to reach those speeds on the interstate, so I can't speak for "finding curves" (at least not dramatic ones) at those speeds.

How well does the MINI hold up at the REAL top end speeds? My car (on a closed track of course) stays real stable up to 110 mph, but above that the wind noise and vibrations in the mirrors and other places make it a bit uncomfortable (not scary - I'm not scared of anything. Except those damn dirty ventriloquist dummies). The ride is stable up to 145 though. Where's that line in the MINI?
